I think that I have contracted RSV.

For the past 3 days, I have been coughing, hacking, and bringing up phlegm. I looked up the symptoms of RSV and I seem to have all the symptoms. I did get an RSV vaccination in 2023, however, I don't know if that is supposed to lessen the symptoms or keep you from contracting it. I also have checked myself for COVID-19 and all the tests are negative. I stopped visiting my wife in rehab and won't go back to see her until this clears up. I believe that she is supposed to be released in 10 days to come home. Here time that Medicare is paying is running out. They only pay for 100 days of assisted living care.

I had a similar thing last month. Lots of people are getting the dreaded “snot disease.” I tested negative for Covid and the flu. I had an RSV vaccination last year, and I don’t think that’s what this is. RSV also affects the lungs and the virus I had and what seems to be going around is limited to serious head congestion. I had it all of November and the only relief is taking 12 hours Mucinex and NyQuil at night. The mucus congestion just never goes away for days on end. Hopefully you just have a common cold.

I've got something too, nothing anyone can nail down.
I'm normally really healthy, but this one kicked me good, been with me a week and 1/2.
I'm on antibiotics and and inhaler.

Wife and I both had a cold with a lot of coughing last week. Only lasted a week. We both tested negative for covid.

Her sister is visiting us and has come down with a cold on her 3 day of the visit. She isn't coughing much yet but it's her first day of symptoms. I don't think she caught it from us but who knows. My wife cleaned and sprayed the whole house before she arrived. They both went to church Tuesday evening and were around a bunch of folks.

Tis the season. Stuff goin round!

Wife started throwing up on Christmas Eve running 102 temp. Then one of the niece's called, our grand-niece was running a temp throwing up. Two hours later, other niece called, another grand-niece throwing up. By evening, my sister called, nephew running temp and throwing up.

So, Christmas get togethers were all put on hold while we wait for everyone to recover. Not sure what is going around, but seems to hit quickly, hopes it goes away the same.

I've been on an inhaler since last January. And similarly got something I just couldn't shake.

Treated as bronchitis at first, but just couldn't get rid of the wheezing.

It's gotten better. But still have to hit the puffer a couple times a week before going to bed. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Wifey, Sweet Pea and I are all doing a lot better now. We had some sort of "lung fung" that likely came home from preschool. We were all using albuterol inhalers for a bit and the elder two were on Mucinex. Wifey and I both had lots of coughing for well over a month, and all three have been to the doctor. "Nothing serious, it's going around". On my last visit about three weeks ago they did give me a 5-day round of steroids. No real fever, minor head congestion. Most affected were lungs - weren't running short of air, but constant cough and hacking out lots of junk.

Last night the explosive diarrhea started and has continued until now. I can only assume that there is nothing left inside of me to come out. I can deal with the coughing, sneezing, aches, and pains, but diarrhea is where I draw the line. I'm on my second dose of Imodium and hopefully, it will work well to bind me up. Called the doctor's office this morning and am still waiting for the call back. I am quite healthy, but when I do get sick, it is usually bad.

This morning I had an explosive diarrhea event and took all my clothes off and threw them into the washing machine. I forgot to even remove my wallet so everything in it was washed. Do you think that the Feds are going to come after me for money laundering? I figured that since it was already wet I might as well put it into the dryer to complete the cycle. i hope that my credit cards will still work.

Oh man, explosive diarrhea. The worst. You definitely have something more than the snot disease that’s going around. Sounds more like the flu.

The Doctors office called back and they are short-staffed and couldn't see me today. Said that I could call on Monday if I am not better. By Monday I could be either better or dead, but I doubt that it would matter to them. They did say that if it got worse go to the ER, but that would be a waiting game till everyone else is seen and I would have infected everyone that made it to the ER for other ailments. I am just going to weather the storm and hope that it gets better on its own. Most likely not RSV and they don't test for RSV, so that leaves the flu or the common cold. Time will tell.

#3 Son's family dealing with stuff now. 5YO granddaughter is spending a few days in the hospital, his wife is sick and the 7YO granddaughter (recovering) will be at our place for a day or two. The boy has his plate pretty full right now.

Drove past the Urgent Care today and it looked busy.

Just an update, all my family members are doing well. Everyone has stopped vomiting, temps have all broken, besides them being a little more tired than normal, everything else is good.

Just in case things go south this weekend, be sure to get the new tractor assigned to someone in your will. ;););)

#3 Son retrieved his younger daughter from the hospital and just picked up his older daughter we were having while they dealt with their illnesses. He and the DIL both had it last night. She went home but he was bunking at the hospital with the kid. All of them feel better today, thank goodness.
