Should work out well. I use the small denso 1 wire alternator on many different applications. Easy to make brackets . No extra wires. The price cant be beat at 58-69 bucks my cost. 35 amp i believe on ones i use. Nice work…
Where have you been purchasing them that inexpensively? I need to replace the one on my Lister Petter Satandby generator
Try on ebay. Many others sell them. Dont go to popular tractor parts places i see they more than double prices .My supplier wont sell to individuals.

why ?
bet the OEM dynamo is maybe 10-14 amps(based on wire size....)
that alternator is good for 3x that !
I use scrapped car CS-130 series alternators for 4 previous tractors, price was FREE.....
still have a spare on the shelf ,somewhere....

Aux lighting port out back is good for 30A, plus the headlights and glow plugs, fuel pump, and other stuff lead me to think it can power more than 15A, what's the main fuse rated at?
My aux lights will draw at least 8A. Heated clothing is under 15A, but over 5A. Everything else that didn't come with the tractor is minor but probably adds up to 3A. Add in the factory incondesent bulbs and other stuff and what are we up to?
Well cs130 are simple and mostly free off lots of s-10s and other gm products. ( i personally use new )Why spend ridiculous money on junk that underperforms when it goes bad? Simple mod and you’ll never touch it again.
Hey why put nitrous on a 350 hp street car.
Why change cams and exhaust on a harley?
Why put a tuner on a 600 hp pete with a isx cummins ? Why a cup holder? Why aux lighting….

. mods aren’t for everybody. Lots are stuck on OEM. I’ll ask why be bored and replace with expensive under preforming oem junk.

I am really curious to hear why such an alternator on a lawn mower as well. Not seeing the need for it. But with the brush guard, maybe they have plans for a lift kit and a bunch of off road lighting, too.

Finally found the spec.... yeesh stuff like this should be easier to find.
14 amps for the OEM dynamo. which makes sense when you eyeball the size of the 2 blue wires....
Can't believe the Aux skt is fused for 30 amps, will try to find the wiring diagram for that curiosity !
I've done similar upgrades, heck it was faster to do one, than design/build a proper 'generator testing station'.
15 amp rect/reg units do NOT like to be 'maxxed out' . Normal operating for that machine might be say 8 amps ? Add on some high power LEDs for dusk to dawn mowing, stereo, etc. and .... r/r goes poof.\

points of interest
1) main fuse slow blow 40 amp
2) NO fuse between regulator and battery
3) IG/M is 10 amp fuse ( so operating current < 10 amps )
4) replacement dynamo about $120
5) replacement regulator about $50

Wowzers. This is getting to be the norm on OTT. Asking why for the alternator is not like asking why someone would swap cam shafts or tune a 600hp Pete. Then you call out people that just stick to oem parts and add that they are expensive under preforming junk. Maybe it’s time you shop for another colour tractor if the oem parts are under preforming and junk. No shortage of people adding mods and upgrades to their tractors on this forum. But we are aloud to ask why.
I did it so it would have the same type of alt. as my bx and I plan to add lights to it. My experience has been a true alt is a lot easier on your battery too. I found this alt. cheaper than what that dynameter cost from Kubota if I had to buy a replacement. This is not a just a lawnmower. Show me any other Lawnmower with a 3 cyl. water cooled diesel engine on it.

You would be surprised by how many diesel lawn mowers there are out there. I am sure this will serve you well for many years to come. Enjoy!

A TORO zeroturn reel cutter I had did, Kubota engine in it ! Got an after market water pump from North Carolina, sent to Michigan, then to me for 20% of what a Kubota dealer 40 miles away priced it for) 2 week delivery). I got the one from 'down south' in 4 days. Fit perfect, resold the Toro as I didn't need a 72" cutting decked machine, sold it for $2100.
