I don't understand the hate with the "treadle" pedal.

I hate the treadle pedal on my B2910, because it keeps reminding me how much I dislike the split brakes right in front of it...

I feel like a contortionist every time I want to use the split brakes, which fortunately is not often...

Fortunately, I rather quickly got over trying to back up my van by pushing down on the floor with my heel...
That's when you know you been on the tractor too much! Wait...can you be on the tractor too much? I don't think so 😁

I recently ordered the L60 aluminum pedal (see below) which is a lot nicer than the one in the MX. I'll need to make an adapter for it to work but I think it's doable. At $149 for a nice, cast aluminum pedal I feel that it's worth the risk. If I can't make it work or am not happy with it I'll return it.

The L60 pedal uses a potentiometer or similar to communicate pedal position whereas the MX is a simpler mechanical design.

The split brakes being behind the treadle pedal is about the dumbest think imaginable, and a serious safety concern IMO.

I don't like where they are on my L2501 but I haven't even needed to touch the brakes really. I wanted the L2502 but was it worth the extra $15k.... probably not since I got mine used.

There are guys who do need to use those brakes and I have read the stories.

I paid $27,300 for my new 2502 with the loader, LP box blade, LP pallet forks, bolt on cutting edge, and seat arm rests, and R14 tires which was a fairly large upgrade. So about $7800 more than you paid for your tractor but, you got a used snow plow too which was probably worth $1000+-

Do you still have the BX2360 listed in your profile? I can't remember the pedal arrangement on the BX25D that I had.
Yes I do. It's setup to pull my cyclone rake and doesn't see much use since getting the zero turn. The pedal was so uncomfortable on mu ankle, especially with heavy winter boots where you couldn't use your toes.

Well my wheels are also filled with beet juice, rimguard whatever you wanna call it. Which isn't cheap either. I wanted a new one but $19,750 paid in cash with everything I got in a lightly used tractor. I can deal with the brakes being on the right side. I mean they would be practical on the left. I heard of people using the split brakes for steering sharper in field work like mowing and plowing but that's something ill never do around here. So it wasn't a huge deal for me.

All I know is that I got quoted close to $40k for a new L2502 with all the same attachments. But I live in Vermont where everything is more expensive haha.

The prices that people get in this forum for a new machine is crazy, so locations do matter. My uncle paid $50k for a B2601 with a backhoe but that was during covid too so that could have been a factor.

Either way doesn't matter now. Haha. I already own it 🤷🏻‍♂️

looking back, I wish I wouldn’t have bought any of the implements new. They are a dime a dozen on the used market for a fraction of the cost.

what you paid for your tractor is about what they sell for here too. A 2501 with loader and 100 hours sells for around 17K

I looked hard at the time for a 2501 because I wanted to turbo it. But I got impatient looking for one and bought the 02. They’re both excellent tractors!

I really wanted the LX2620. But I guess the L2501 will suffice for now. It's still a good tractor at least so far it has been. I love how simple it is. I find it easier to clean than my side by side!

Due to the Covid scam there were none available locally, so I traveled a couple of hours.
Total price out the door was exactly: $27,500.00

Back on topic, the treadle pedal was something to hate till I removed one of the springs, now it is just a serious annoyance.

I really wanted the LX2620. But I guess the L2501 will suffice for now. It's still a good tractor at least so far it has been. I love how simple it is. I find it easier to clean than my side by side!
the 2501 is a lot more tractor than the 2620 so you did good!
I bought a new Honda Rubicon same week I bought the Tractor. It pretty much sits unused in the shop and has a 90 miles on it in in 14 months now. I take the tractor instead of it. Lol

I've seen folks post that they use their toe "up" for reverse. That is interesting to me. I go heel/ toe on the pedal. Not all the time. Just in close quarters.

I tried that but I can't do it for some reason, doesn't feel as comfortable to me.

this is what I do, toe up for reverse. Quick and easy!

Chapel Tractor in Milford New Hampshire is a good dealer that works overtime to get you the best price. I know lots of people who have bought tractors from them when they have other dealers a lot closer to where they live. They also deliver tractors all over the state.

First off, here in the south, our older hands prefer to call it a "treble" pedal.

Secondly, you aint stood up to adjust your pants, stepping on the reverse and about slingin yourself onto the hood yet lol.

I do like the design though. Very convenient when cutting and having to back up constantly. You do need to keep it greased though on the standard L's. Otherwise you'll get unwanted cruise control.

My youngin crept through one of our gates last year on our 3301 from a sticky pedal....couple of grease points underneath her takes care of that.

My grand L has a better version of this pedal and won't stick.....or at least hasn't yet.
I have a B2601... I didn't see a zerk under the treadle peddle. Are we just shooting some grease in the pivot area of the pedal? Mine definitely takes a stomping to get full speed reverse.

I'm a 6'3" 230lbs, I do feel a little awkward, only when pressing down for reverse, maybe the toe under the front pedal will work better for me, that is after a good greasin.

I liked the pedal on the in-laws BX however when I got my B2601 it was a different matter. It was way to stiff and then I found the thread here that showed which spring to remove and then all was right in the world again.:)
Can you link me please. My reverse is super stiff. I have to stomp on it.
