Good day.

I have question about water separator light on MX6000.

Last night MX6000 sat outside (it rained).

It was parked on a slight grade (I am not sure any of that matters).

This morning I started tractor to put back in the barn and I walked away to let it warm up…everything was fine on the dash when I stepped away for a moment.

When I remounted machine, as soon as I took the parking brake off and started to back up I noticed a light on dash (water separator light flashed on and beeped at me)…i was not sure what it was immediately, but anyway the continued to back tractor into the barn the light quickly turned off and I parked it in the barn.

I was not sure what the light on dash was for at the time (and did not have manual with me).

I don’t believe the light was on for more than a few seconds. (But I did not look at watch and was paying more attention to where the dogs were while backing up)

Anyway, I looked around briefly under the hood and nothing looked unusual, including looking at the water separator…at a glance I did not notice anything unusual.

So I get home and get my manual out and see that the light was for water separator.

So after checking manual it seems like when I see the MX again I need to drain water from separator and purge the air from fuel line? Correct?

I guess another question is if that (drain water and purge fuel line) is necessary if the warning light is not on? (I sort of would have thought light would stay n until the water drained?).

I am not really sure how the sensor and light work but wonder why light did not stay on if a problem?

If I was away from the machine just a few seconds more while it was warming up I would not have even known since the light went off really quick.

Any thoughts or suggestions? TYIA.

See post #14 in this thread. Reading through the whole thread gives a better context for your possible problem.

I never had this issue with my first MX6000 and haven't with the cabbed version that I've owned for three years. That said, when this topic came up I ordered the stay kit for my tractor since it was $50 and it showed up a few weeks ago. $50 is a ridiculous cost for a small bracket and two bolts but I'll get around to installing it at some point.

They provide a more stable and secure mounting of the water separator. The upper schematic shows the water separator secured with one bolt to the frame. The lower schematic shows the water separator secured at two locations via the bracket and bolts indicated by the arrows.

I'll install the kit on the MX tomorrow and post photos showing before and after.

Thanks. And why would this be different between ROPS and cab models. Isn’t the engine compartment pretty much the same?

Thanks team.

I just had a great conversation with one of my two dealers that I use. They ran my machine serial number against the campaign and my machine is in the range. Parts are ordered.

Thank you for connecting me to the previous thread / TSB and the suggestions above.

I’ll post again after parts come in as a reference for wait time. (Dealer thought 4-5 days). 👍

Great question and I don't know the answer. The kits appear to have different brackets, and the price listed online has to be a mistake with the ROPS version listed at around $800!

Probably is $80, not $800

That would make a lot more sense.

The prices listed on Messick's haven't changed since my post in the other thread.

https://www.messicks.com/parts/TC860-99920 (ROPS)
https://www.messicks.com/parts/TC860-99910 (CAB)

It might be helpful to include a screenshot of the post made by @whitetiger in the other thread where the issue of vibration is mentioned. That might help to understand why the additional hardware to better support the water separator.

35.5k for tractor and loader 😆 (2021 dollars).

It’s covered under warranty so long as within 5 years from date of purchase. Which is sneaking up on me (2021 purchase).

My dealer just texted me a few moments ago and they said they have been notified the parts are back ordered. (I don’t think anyone was lying but maybe whoever/however system works at my dealer had some lag to your already in process info).

I installed the kit on my MX this morning. Access is a bit of a challenge but I figured it'd be easier to struggle for a bit rather than take off the loader and disconnect hydraulic hoses. The photos below show the before and after (some taken through the front glass), and the difference in the bolts used which have grown to accommodate the thickness of the bracket. I just noticed that I need to rotate the hose bracket a couple of degrees. 😂

I was gonna say there’s no difference in the cab/rops, but obviously there is.

Pretty sure the rops bracket goes all the way up to those two bolts under fuel tank.

That’s what I thought to, well was hoping anyway. Once they looked everything up, they’d see parts are back ordered.

I still haven’t heard back from my dealer… I’ll call again tomorrow.
