I recently bought an old kubota B6000 4WD. It's in fairly good condition, but 1 thing anoys me.
The hydraulic lift does not stay up, it keeps slowly getting down.
What is most likely the problem, the cilinder or control lever?
Thanks.

Most likely is the piston seal but there are miltiple other possibilties.

'old', how old ? An idea how many times the 3PH was used ??
providing there's no obvious leaks, the rockshaft cylinder seals would be the 1st guess.

Welcome to the forum - 3-point hitch droop can be easy to fix.

If it goes up but doesn't stay up, the O-ring on the lift piston could be leaking.

It's part 19 in this diagram - 12 cap comes off with 4 screws and pushing the arms further down will push the piston out exposing the 0-ring. If you can get it out in 1 piece, car parts stores can often match it up from their assortment.
Or its actual part number can be ordered at Messick's

Happy tractoring - Dick B.

Does lever move forward or remain in place when 3 pt hitch lowers?? If lever moves forward friction washers on lever are worn & need to be tightened.

I dont think there are any friction washers on the B6000 valve. The lever is one piece and solidly connected to the spool via a pinned in place lever arm. Not much to go wrong there.

I dont know the exact year, but what i could find it should be between 1973 and 1977. So fairly old yes.😊
I know nothing about the history, but i don't think it had a heavy life.
I'll replace the o-ring.

Thanks I'll start with replacing the o-ring on the piston.
There may be one or two (plastic) backer rings to install next to the o-ring. They fit into the same groove as the o-ring.
