BX overheat fix (band aid)

I was doing leaves and of course it started getting warm since the radiator was getting plugged up. Not wanting to stop and clean the radiator while it was hot and after some consideration, I turned the heater on. Cab doors off for the summer, so not problem. Temp stayed in the black!

yes, old 'trick' I learned 50+years ago when my '67 stang went a tad 'hot' in summer...

CLEAN that radiator - I have machines that I work on that people will continue to cut grass/leaves with the overheat lamp lit on the dash - they run it till the override kicks in and the computer kills the engine.

Radiator is a must be "clean all the time" device on the tractor!!!

I agree, just wanted to get the leaves done that day. Will be cleaned this weekend

Too much compressed air being used on a radiator can lead to bending fins or worse. Same said for spraying the fins with a stream from a water hose.

Given there is hardly any space to get in there what is the best way to clean the radiator fins on a BX?

I don't have a simple solution to that. I do know a cleaner/de-greaser can be used, and be very effective, but it can also damage other surfaces it gets on.

The answer may be as simple as Dawn Dishwashing Liquid/water, applied with a pump sprayer? I've not personally had a need, yet. It could work very well, rinsed/a light spray from a hose after soaking?
