Hi everyone! New guy here.

Been a long time "green tractor" owner, but now I am also an "orange tractor" owner.

Looking to add a ROPS to my new-to-me B7200 HST-D

OEM from kubota, here in canada, is >$1,100

Anyone know of any universal kits out there that may work?

cheers!!

There are no other universal kits known to fit.
And I highly suspect that you can get an OEM ROPS for it.
They have been long Obsolete.

Kubota has had a program keeping ROPS in stock for old tractors that never had one as a way of limiting their liability in roll-over accidents. I bought one for my B5100 perhaps a decade ago for less than $300.

That program has expired in the USA.

I don’t know if Canada ever had the safety program

Back in probably the late 1980's I enquired about the availability of oem rops and was told that they were not available in Canada. I ended up making my own including seat belts. I think I had about $100 in steel and an evening's work into it.

That is awesome!
was that also a B7200?... do you happen to have some general dimensions?... and having made it as you did - and then used it... if you were to make it again, is there anything you would have changed or improved?... dimensions - height... width... choice of material... etc etc?

one more thing - is that a 3pt hitch Backhoe?... or special install / special subframe install unit?....
what's the make/model of it?....

Nice job on the build.

Looks almost factory.

I dig those grab handles too.

(and with inflation, you might be able to sell that steel for more than a hundred now) ;) :ROFLMAO:

I built the subframe a couple of years after I purchased the tractor new. I installed oem power steering at the same time. This frame also brought the hoe six inches closer to the tractor than the 3ph did. The frame is a full box frame which fully "clamp's" the tractor together and reinforces the top of the transmission. I have lots of pictures of this.

You inspired me to do the same.
Steel cost me about $130.
Took about 8hrs over a span of 2 days, to cut, fabricate, weld, paint and bolt it all together.

I overhauled the tractor as well - fixed a number of minor issues. Added a coolant reservoir tank. Added temp sensor and gauge (with a 3d printed gauge pedestal). Added LED work-lights to rear fenders and top of ROPS. And a Tool box.

It's almost ready - but I decided to add power steering. Still figuring out if I will install the C3 corvette power assist, or a marine IO drive power assist. If you have some insight into this, that will make the installation easier and/or cheap - let me know.

Cheers!

Looking good! Power steering makes all the difference. Fortunately I bought the oem kit shortly after purchasing the tractor when it was still available.
