Being “glaciated” myself, that makes perfect sense.

I’m always open to new food ideas and flavors.

Love Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.

Boiled peanuts sounds like one I could take a pass on…..no offense @Magicman…. ;)

PS - now that I think about it - I've seen boiled peanuts at a food booth at the NY State Fair years ago and passed...

Not sure I'd expect to get a good boiled peanut at the New York State Fair anyway....
I grew up in Mississippi and never heard of boiled peanuts until I moved to Texas and a summer intern from Georgia Tech brought some to work. (But it was north Mississippi :))

Georgia is claimed as being the Peanut Capital of the US, but the Dothan, AL area produces more than 65 percent of all peanuts produced in the United States. George Washington Carver, agricultural pioneer and head of Tuskegee Institute's experiment station who was known worldwide for the more than 300 uses he found for peanuts.

I guess that it depends upon where Google lands. Your figures show Georgia is indeed the peanut capital of the US.

The Mayor of Dothan must have written the 65% thing. :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, I just ate a nice bait of Boiled Peanuts. Theys good y'all,

Not anything very fancy.

Grilled some zucchini and a bunch of sausages with a few hamburgers.

Depending on my wild plum crop I like to make a batch of wild plum jam.
I like tart/sweet taste and this jam fits the bill! Goes great on English muffins.

I have a few wild plum (Prunus Americana) trees on my land which are a native species. This year had a good crop of plums and canning went well. I normally give out half of the yield or so to friends and neighbors.

We had one of those in our yard as a kid. I would spend hours climbing and eating plums. Mom canned around 40 jars a year and we ate them all winter. One of my summer jobs was to pick up the fallen fruit. Not too fond of that part.

I am not great in the kitchen and these are the only fruit I have made into jam.
The prep work is the pits! Pun intended. A slimy mess cutting/removing the pits. These plums are much smaller than domesticated grocery store plums and take a lot of them to make a decent batch.

I planted an orchard at one of my previous houses many years ago. I used one of these fruit pickers on a pole to grab my plums, lemons, limes etc.

Will be some broiled haddock with roasted cauliflower with balsamic and Romano.

Fish is just topped with garlic butter with some white wine in the pan.

Cracker or bread crumbs are common on the fish. Just not my favorite.

I am trying to keep up sir…

This year we have a lot of peaches at our residence. They are to the point every time wind blows they fall from tree. Yesterday we took the pole type picker and ladder and got the ripest ones. The bourbon is what makes this type exceptional IMO…anyway I thought I would share. 🥃

I’ve been providing some meal support for my folks an hour away.

Mom got discharged from rehab yesterday for the second time in a few months. She’s fallen at home twice now and broken both hips requiring replacement surgeries.

She fed us goulash for years when we were young.

It was cheap to make and filled bellies of farm boys.

Still like it.

Going to portion off a batch. Given my background I embellish quite a bit with fresh garlic, oregano and basil. Never had that in her recipe.

They like it, so worth doing.

This is the ground beef and sauce. Will toss with some elbows and package.
