Nice pics! No Turkeys up here so appreciate you sharing them.
Thank you! It was a fun day for sure.

I also took some video of the action. Sorry for the shakes and wind noise. I do not have a 10k dedicated video camera with a wind proof sock over a decent mic but did the best I could.

This was after he knocked the decoy off the mounting pin. I think it just encouraged him more.

(sorry, not sure why a proper thumbnail is not showing up)

This one is steady but still lots of wind noise.
This is where the 6 other jakes come running in like a freight train to see what all the fuss is about.

Well I’m here to tell you that that little fella tried to attack me…I thought I was a goner for sure. Then I remembered what I learned watching Crocodile Dundee, gave it the ‘I love you’ hand sign and he settled right down and I was able to get him to smile for the camera😉.

(In all honesty, I thought initially it was a rock and damn near stepped on it until I happened to see it move)

had 4 visitors the other day...mom and 3 cubs. We watched them for 20 mins. cubs were playing king of the mountain (stump). It was hilarious.

The polts are hard to see in the grass, but I just happened to look outside and see I have some squatters in the bowling alley…then I stepped outside to get a better look and saw a few more.

Nice. This was the first year we got to watch a flock of poults grow up, they got big quick.

This year it seemed like it was the last week in February/1st part of March.
Can’t speak for @rc51stierhoff, but our spring turkey season starts May 1. Coincides with breeding season more or less.

Guess hatch is early-mid-June more or less? Probably coincides with whitetail fawns….

I have tons of Turkeys here, never harvested one, never really had interest too, but if times get tough, I wouldn't hesitate to make Turkey jerky.

Turkeys weren’t a popular game bird in my early days of hunting.

Never hunted them. In those days I shot woodchucks/ground hogs. Lots of them.

Obviously has exploded over the decades.

Made the mistake of buying a $50 raffle ticket for a National Wild Turkey fundraiser ……still getting emails from them 2-3 years later…got one today.

Ladies and Gentlemen, in a surprising head butt move by Bucky Springbuck, and Rocky Racoon is face down on the mat, here comes Bucky off the top rope,, He must have been watching reruns of the Macho Man , that was always a winning move for him, Mean Gene, and I think this might just win him the title!

Nice to see these guys hanging around my apple trees... they get a pass so they can knock up as many does as possible. I'll take out spike or cow horn deer to fill the freezer. Rather see these big guys around than the smaller one, ones I get are in the 125 to 135 pound range.
