Lots of two legged skunks
Do I even want to ask????
I was thinking the same thing, so I'd let someone else ask first!!

A two legged skunk is a person that really don't take care of himself and goes around looking like an old dirt bag and stinks like a full bag of crap. That's a two legged skunk.Lots of two legged skunks

Your right about the thumb. I might do a hydraulic one this winter but I'd like to design a cutter for the thumb area to cut roots. I'll have to give tat one some thought. The thumb is a handy to have as anything. I installed a hyd thumb on my trackhoe and I really don't see how anyone can do without one.
And politiciansWell alrighty then... That's one way of looking at it. Down here we usually call them homeless or bums...
You being from a equipment background I'm sure you have already used a hyd thumb before. It's so much more usefull to be able to go from digging to picking up and back to digging and never have to leave the seat.
The root cutter would be a good idea. You already have half of it built when you designed the claw. I'm sure it will be interesting to see what you come up with.
Here are a couple of ideas when you get to it. First one is a hand tool but you can probably make a similar blade to go somewhere onto the back hoe (thumb or back of claw?)

This is something that looks like it would work if there are no rocks in the soil. Where I live this would last about 5 minutes or the tractor would become toast. Not sure that you need to go much further down than 5 or so inches to get most roots cut.

Its flipped over because it acts as a spacer for the right side. These will only fit the left side and if I didn't flip it, it couldn't even attach to the right side. Flipping the plate allowed the thing to attach plus it gave me enough offset to still move the seat. Win, win.Why if I may ask did you flip the bracket over? I can see you gained maybe an inch of clearance. But I am confused, not a real hard thing to do,,,lol
Did anybody notice that??????? He took a mod (NOT AN ACTION) picture of one of HIS Kubotas with dirt on it That warm place just dropped a few degrees
BTW I like the new mod
