I'm about to tackle the transmission fluid and filter change on my B2620, but I'm slightly confused, are there 3 or 4 drain plugs?

4 plugs...
I can't figure out where the 4th plug is. I have opened the one by mid-mount PTO and two in the back, but where is the fourth one? I believe it's the one on the below picture labeled as transmission case, but I can't locate that, mine doesn't look like that.

Both the operator's manual and work shop manual only list those three plugs, nothing about the one by the transmission case. What am I missing?

I measured the drained oil, 3gal even. I was "full" per the dip stick before draining, so there is still 1gal somewhere. The question is that am I missing a drain plug or is it in the cylinders and undrainable.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, I will need to use the tractor tomorrow, but would like to drain as much old tranny oil as possible before adding new.

Bolted to the back of the clutch housing is a gear case that Kubota refers to as the front transmission. The 4th drain plug is on that.

There's no fluid in that one though. It's for water or moisture is it not?

I only get oil out of the three. And yes it does leave half a gallon or a bit more in the tractor (at least it does on mine with the loader and rear remotes.)

First time I ever serviced mine I put the 4 gallons in it that was listed in the capacities and I had to drain a gallon back out.

It has gears and bearings in it. It has hydraulic lines running to it from the hydrostat transmission. It has fluid in it. Here are the parts break-down from the Kubota site.

Thanks guys, this was gold! I got another over half a gallon drained from that plug, so I'm now little over 3.5 gallons total of 4 listed on the spec sheet for the tranny oil.

I found this plug from the work shop manual, but it is listed under clutch section, and not on the service and maintenance section for transmission fluid change. Go figure.

Now I feel comfortable refilling with new tranny oil.

Thanks again all for your help!

Here is a capture from the workshop manual related to this.

If your book says 4 gal (for example), put in 3 and check. You can add much easier than remove. Just keep adding until you at the correct level by your dipstick or site glass (not the manual) because they are sometimes incorrect.

Holy crap. Thanks guys. I think I have been missing that one all along. LOL.

I have the workshop manuals but have just been going by the maintenance section in the owners manual.

That's the only fault I have found with Kubota so far....their brochures and manuals are full of inaccuracies.

From what I remember i think I was only getting the one on the mid PTO and the two on each side by the rear axle.

Guess I better start studying the workshop manual.

There's not any hidden, unmentioned drive shaft U-joints like John Deere has is there? LOL.

Had a recent chipmunk attack anyone have an engine wiring diagram?, all I can find so far is the dash components (repaired).
The wiring diagram which I have attached is for the whole machine.
I have included the pages showing the letter abbreviations for the wiring colors.
Check the envelope symbol at top right of forum pages for a private message from me
