I had this happen to my wifes Ford ExploderGood day, I live in AZ and we have the wonderful pack rats that love wires. Im wondering if anyone has found where you could buy new plug ends for the solenoid valves. called dealer they said $4700 for new harness! ouch!
thanks
Decon,....or an equivalent, will work great, and is inexpensive.Mice chewed the one wire on my Mercedes that controlled the transmission shifting. The insurance company totaled the car rather than fix it. They said that the last time they sent a Mercedes to the dealer for a chewed wire, the bill was over $10,000, double the original estimate.
Thanks for all the replies! I found the wire connectors @ Findpigtails.com they have about every connector known to a man, I sent them pics of the connectors and they replied quickly! 80.00 each not cheap but better than the whole harness!!Good day, I live in AZ and we have the wonderful pack rats that love wires. yes sir you are correct the solenoid does have a molded plug on it but the harraness is a plug that plugs into the solenoid I found the plugs @ findpigtails.comHe can't replace the 'connectors' that are actually molded into the solenoid valves ! Those ARE an integral part of the valve coil.
If he's really talking about the ssv75, lookup the valve on website, then ggogle the part number, might get a 'hit' on the MFR,then that website for 'mating connector'.
A posted picture narrows it down as does the list in the WSM.
