He's drilling for oil!I have to wonder what the young man with the brace and bit is up to! ?
Back when I was a kid I was doing exactly that, Running a full gravel and sand pit in the front yard with all my trucks and tractors.
Yeah, now remember that they can also do that to fingers!Back when I was a kid I was doing exactly that, Running a full gravel and sand pit in the front yard with all my trucks and tractors.
We lived on 10 acres so plenty of room to dig.
Well wouldn't you know I picked the exact wrong spot to dig and hit the phone line.
Cut that sucker clean in half.
Amazing what Tonka toys could do!
My "Tonka" toys were various sizes and shapes of wooden block, but that did not diminish my fun because I did not know any different. There was no phone line to cut because there was no phone at my home place until I was over 30 years old. My parents were in their 60's before they finally got a phone.Well wouldn't you know I picked the exact wrong spot to dig and hit the phone line.

We got electricity when I was 6. Before that is was the "Iceman" that came every few days. Even so, my Mother cooked breakfast for us every morning and lunch was usually some of the breakfast in a couple of biscuits. I don't remember ever being hungry. I grew up never having a bicycle. There were 7 in my first grade class, and 5 in the grade higher.and did not get electricity until I was 7.

As a teacher for a long while - we gave up a long time ago with study halls - covid was invented to replace that study hall - poor kids have never recovered !!!Oh No fried !!
We always had 2 grades per room in grades 1 through 6. After that you moved across the hall where they had a study hall and you went to a different room for each subject. I suppose that is still the way it is now. The only time I ever returned to that school since 1961 was when my sister graduated in 1965. Dat was a looong time ago.
