Yes, but that's true almost every year because the start of the race is on a downtown street which is typically plowed. They have changed the route numerous times for low snow depths though. Not the case for the last several years since we've been well above our 74" annual average lately.If I remember correctly in years past they have to truck snow into Anchorage to start the Iditarod race. Then truck the dogs north to snow and 'really' start the race. But not this year I guess.

Welcome to OTT, nice toys you got there!Officially we're at 84" since Nov 1st, since we live about 650ft higher in elevation, we're closer to 100"s this winter. Needless to say, I took delivery of my new lx2610 with front mount snowblower and rear box blade 3 days ago, so I don't anticipate Anymore snow this season.
