I lhave a BX2380 with a LA3444 loader. Only 50 hours on the unit. While pushing snow, I heard a "pop" and the loader would not raise or lower, and the bucket won't tilt. No response from any position of the control lever. I checked all the lines and can find no leak. Oil level appears to be fine. Three point hitch raises and lowers. Any advice on what to look for or what might have gone wrong. Thanks.

How does your joy stick feel after the "pop?" The same? Different? Pull the rubber boot up and take a look in there. May not solve your problem, but won't hurt to take a gander at the linkage.

I can't detach the hydraulic couplers due to the location of the release handle against the lifter arms. Is there a way to move and detach the lifter arms without the use of hydraulics? Thanks,

What are you trying to accomplish?

Dan
Lifter wont respond to control lever. No visible hydraulic leak. Recommended fix is to remove couplers and reseat to see if there is a leak. But I can't move the handle due to location next to lifter arms.

While that might be the problem I doubt it. My guess is the joystick linkage is not working. Remove one of the hoses from the coupler, put the end in a clean can or bucket, and see if you get any oil out of it when you operate the joystick.

Dan

Whoops ' the oil wont be out the hose - it will be oit of the coupler.

I would say from your description it is not the quick couplers.
Sounds like maybe the joystick part failure.
I did not see you say if the joystick feels the same or not.
Does the three point hitch work?

The reason folks are asking if the 3pt hitch works (lifts) is that is at the end of the hydraulic circuit.
Note: 3pt hitch lowers under gravity (i.e. not powered) and you have to have the lowering speed control valve open (usually round knob under the seat).

If the 3pt works, then the tractor hydraulic is OK and the problem is with the loader....

Had this happen on a old skid steer. The piece between the motor and the hydraulic pump broke. I was lifting more than I should have. Don't know if this is the same on tractors but worth a look.

I'd move the loader frame lever to the 'unlocked ' position...
unlock the 4in1 coupling lever..and then lock it down.
I suspect it's not properly seated.
On my BX23S that lever is horizontal, yours looks 'up a bit'.

Thanks. 3-point does rise and lower.

It is in the loader control. Open it up and look around for a clip the has fallen off. It happened to my BX22 and drove me crazy till I found it.

Before you get too carried away just look here and verify this clip is still in place. If it comes loose the joystick will not operate the spools in the control valve. It looks like all you need to do to inspect that is remove the the rubber boot on the fender. My guess is it has a molded lip on the bottom edge that engages the hole in the fender. Gently pry it loose and slide it back up the joystick to expose the linkage.

so the joystick moves 'normal' , left right fwd back ??
the 'pop' might have been the ganged coupler 'popping' up as it wasn't latched properly.

The coupler is a black-and-white type of operation. It is either clipped on correctly, or it will not stay down and operate the loader. Unless the coupler has been modified or the locking pin has been sheared off, it is either coupled or uncoupled, there is no in-between that will work for one minute!

it may be the picture but it looks a bit 'off' from the handle position compared to mine. Mine is horizontal, his looks 'up'.
zero operation of the loader points to the coupler of the joystick(maybe joystick is locked ?'
mor einfo/pix are needed

It would take no more than 60 seconds to pop the boot off the joystick and verify operation of the linkage. Instead this thread has dragged on for days.

Problem solved when I was able to move the connection lever to the correct position (used a metal rod to lever it down).
