I just picked up a 2016 L2501 with 250 hours on it and trying to figure out if it has been serviced. Are the Kubota factory filters and the filters purchased at a Kubota dealer different colors? I think I read that somewhere. My engine and hydraulic filters are white; the transmission (HST) filter is yellow.

Thanks

Can't speak to your tractor, however, I have gotten Kubota filters that were black one time and white another time. Every one of them had the Kubota part numbers on them.

Thanks. I guess that answers that question: no way to tell if they have been changed.

They probably have been changed. The original, factory filters are usually painted gray, but having said that, the first thing I do with used equipment is change the fluids.

I just know that I will catch some flak on this, but.......
With a 2016 machine you could certainly use any high quality brand of filters.
I use Baldwin filters,......but I do only use Kubota SUDT-2 fluid.
OK...folks,....you are clear to fire at me now!

I think, for peace of mind, I would just change them all anyway.

My Kubota filters are white with blue lettering with Kubota’s name and the part number on them. And they come in an orange box with a stylized big blue K on it (IIRC). The original OEM filters will be painted machine gray after they are installed on the tractor, when all the other gray parts are painted. Normally original filters are hard to remove. I attribute it to have to break the paint coating.

The color probably depends on which child slave labor country they're made in. But, the box says Kubota on it so, top notch I'm sure.
