B7800 propeller shaft

I have searched high and low but unable to find any sevice information on the b7800 hst propeller shaft, apart from the tractor needs to be split to remove it.
Mine has quite a bit of play in the coupling on the front on the shaft behind the clutch housing. Is this normal or how much is too much, don't want to split the tractor unnecessarily but also don't want to make things worse, any advise welcome. Thanks.

Those are cv joints so quite a bit is subjective but if one has remarkably more than other I'd think it is worn out.

Curious if you have been able to remove shaft yet without splitting tractor?...I have the exact same issue.

There are a few models of the B series that you can remove the shaft without separating the tractor.

It is very simple to tell, drive the 2 roll pins out of the splined couplers and see if the couplers will slide one way or the other enough to release the shaft. The shaft will either drop out or it won't.

No i still have the problem, I am just taking things easy untill I can manage without the tractor. Still not sure if some play is normal I have watched several videos of B7800 and hear the same chatter noise from the shaft when the tractor is stopped. Another member said it is possible to remove the shaft on some B models so I will take another look, but think splitting is going to have to be done to remedy the problem.

On my b2400 I cut a hole in the floor pan with a hole saw to allow access to the upper pin slide coupler.
Maybe for you?????

This is the shaft they are talking about.
You are pointing to a completely different shaft that runs the Front axle on a completely different tractor.

Glad I could help LOL. The B7800 and the B2910 are mechanically the same machine with all the same part numbers.

One could simply point out my misunderstanding without being a douche, but whatever. People stop posting and sites go dead.

You calling the Moderator of a forum a "douche" for pointing out that your pointing to pictures of the FWD propeller shaft which wasn't the shaft in question is not being a "douche" it's the Moderator keeping misinformation from confusing the OP.

While the Wolfman was in error I believe, as the B7800 is supposed to be essentially identical to my B2910 mechanically, and actually the B7800 is covered as an appendix to my B2910 WSM.

But I see nothing offensive in the Wolfman's post where he pointed out you were referring to a different shaft. Not sure what you actually replied as I see your post was edited by a moderator.

The only thing I edited with his post, was that he had replied inside the quotes, and I moved it outside the quotes.

We could all stand to be a little more pleasant is all.
