Pardon my ignorance, but pls explain the diff. btw hyd shuttle and HST. HST on 3901 is speedy, no lever gear shifting (Fwd/Rev), great for repetitive back/forth maneuvering. The biggest hydro, is the L6060. But for mostly mower I would think a hyd shuttle would be a better choice.
No one makes a HST tractor in that HP range these days.M9000 is great, but does not have HST. What is present equivalent tractor?
If you can get by with about 52 PTO HP, consider the MX6000.9000 used primarily for bush hog work, of which there is plenty. Would be great to more easily mow in reverse w/o excessive clutch work (my knee won't take much more as the years go by). HST on the 3901 w/ 4' JD bush hog is great for the tighter areas., but keeping the field edges back to fence line w/o any more cattle needs the bigger machiunce. Since no more haying 105 is overkill and will be sold.
HST uses a variable displacement pump, so you can go continuously from full forward to full reverse, within the gear range, without using the clutch. Clutch is required to shift between ranges, while stopped.Pardon my ignorance, but pls explain the diff. btw hyd shuttle and HST. HST on 3901 is speedy, no lever gear shifting (Fwd/Rev), great for repetitive back/forth maneuvering.
HST is a hydrostatic transmission. Continuously variable, plus usually a range selector.Pardon my ignorance, but pls explain the diff. btw hyd shuttle and HST. HST on 3901 is speedy, no lever gear shifting (Fwd/Rev), great for repetitive back/forth maneuvering.
I would argue that the MX6000 is the largest HST in the Kubota lineup. The biggest hydro, is the L6060. But for mostly mower I would think a hyd shuttle would be a better choice.

If you need 90+ HP you will need to investigate gear drive tractdors.
The mx6000 has 63.4 engine, 51.8pto hp. L6060 has 62 engine, 53 pto. You would never notice that slight bit of different, engine or pto.I would argue that the MX6000 is the largest HST in the Kubota lineup.
To me there are 3 contenders in the line up for ‘biggest HST’’…(i sort of read or thought size) and I think really depends on what ‘biggest’ means….m62 to me is the heaviest, then L6060, then the MX. that being said I think the L and MX are similar in capabilities but fairly different in terms of features and price… the M62 is a whole different animal in my opinion with way more capability…not sure that would make sense for the OP mowing uses though. I believe all three have different eng, net, and PTO hp ratings, so depending on which criteria it’s a toss up on ‘biggest’. I am clearly not biased or anything but MX is the correct choice . Just kidding I’d be happy with any or all of the three.I would argue that the MX6000 is the largest HST in the Kubota lineup.
No hst for the M6060. It does have a whisker bit more engine and pto power, but only 8x8, 12x12, and hydraulic shuttle for transmissions. I think I referenced the TLB (m62) not the ag machine. No hst for the M6060. It does have a whisker bit more engine and pto power, but only 8x8, 12x12, and hydraulic shuttle for transmissions.
The MX tractor itself is most robust with wheels and axles. Closer to a utility tractor than a L.The mx6000 has 63.4 engine, 51.8pto hp. L6060 has 62 engine, 53 pto. You would never notice that slight bit of different, engine or pto.

spec sheet says 90-110 HP w/CVT what am I missing?Won't find a 90-100 HP M9000 sized CVT.
Nothing, spec sheet shows variable speed in that power range.spec sheet says 90-110 HP w/CVT what am I missing?
