Is there a switch to unplug the 4x4 when you press the brakes? Like a brake light switch on a car down at the brake pedal. I have no use for this! And if known will this effect the 4x4 switch in cab to place it in 4x4 when needed?
If I'm understanding this right you want to eliminate the 4wd from engaging when you brake.
WHY?
It's one heck of a good feature that you don't know you need until you need it.
It increases the braking and stability of the tractor 100%.
I can't think of a logical reason to eliminat
No.I know all of this! YES or NO is the question!
Everyone needs some "breaks" in their daily lives. Was trying to answer potreeboy or others maybe not so understanding of what your trying to do. I own this tractor and can figure out why you would want to disconnect the 4x4 breaking system.
To answer your question NO I don’t have a clue if you can do this but thanks for your reasoning behind this thread. Be safe and good luck hitting the 4x4 switch when you need the breaks.
Are you saying thats what your machine does? Never noticed it on mine…..that would be a whole lot of drivetrain wear.It engages the 4x4 when in 2wd and you apply the brakes
dont drive on road. dont need this thing going in and out of 4x4 ever time i use breaks. just something else to break. End of thread Thanks
I am floored. So is it actually engaging the front wheels to brake on all 4 or is it only engaging brakes on front wheels? I never thought to look. How is that any good at all for tight turns in 2WD?
Just my take from reading it, it engages 4 wheel drive when both brake pedals are pressed to tie front wheels together with rear to essentially give you 4 wheel braking. It doesn’t read like it does it when using the brakes individually…can’t find a free WSM for the tractor to see what it uses to sense and engage though. Also note this was only on the 12 speed models the way the owner manual read.I am floored. So is it actually engaging the front wheels to brake on all 4 or is it only engaging brakes on front wheels?
