Here's what one guy said,

Chris Delong
I've seen some janky shit in my day. Farm equipment Jerry rigs, log trucks that have no earthly business being "in service" but, this right here, W. O. W. It's repugnant yet impressive and the same time. My inner technician is screaming in pain but my inner McGivier wants to stand up and cheer...
So many emotions...

I have seen a lot of weird things that people have done to their vehicles. This one is right up there. Amazing

If it were 40+ years ago I could attribute that to 2-3 local farmers we knew.

They were “resourceful,” and wouldn’t run to town for parts unless absolutely necessary…..

Too long of bolts and washers to make up for that is field resourceful, but
Did you miss the fact that the cases are also welded together?

Because there are 4 lock washers. When used in pairs, they cancel each other out 😄
In all seriousness though, why on God's green planet didn't they just cut the bolts down?!?

Actually the welds were the reason I thought of a couple of our farmer “colleagues”. They’d improvise big time.

Hell, a lot of us would improvise with an extra washer…maybe not 4….😉

One guy in particular “glued” everything together with his tombstone stick welder in his barn door… with hay chaff all around. ….;)

He would weld broken wheels with tires on them. My grandfather was astonished he never blew one up…or started a fire….at least that he admitted to…..

Had a neighbor "general contractor" who fixed his mailbox to the pole using duct tape. Good advertisement. WYSIWYG
I did some work on an alarm system at a local electricians home. This guy had 30 employees and was the go to electrical contractor for the area.

The wiring to his garage/ shop/ office was absolutely scary. Wired it in his spare time with pieces left over from the jobsite.

Looks like something my neighbor would do. If duct tape won’t fix it, out comes the welding machine. But he’s a very gifted welder

I wonder what torque setting was used on the bolts 😂. I hope they weren’t over torqued.

With that gooseneck on the ball hitch I bet that front end was light! He'll soon have that hitch through his tailgate I imagine.

He probably has tires like this. View attachment 105880
What do you mean?

That, right there, is called an "emergency air supply". So if you were to get a flat somewhere in the tire, the emergency supply air would fill it.

That way you don't need a spare!

I rented a trailer from Sunbelt rentals that with a tire that developed a tumor just like that.

sounds like the same guy who I hired in 2015 to wire my shop. After about an hour I sent him home. Asked him to leave. didn't pay him a dime then he calls the sheriff. Fine. Sheriff came by and I showed him the work. Sheriff says call entergy. Called Entergy. Entergy says we need to disconnect your power asap before any fires or personal injury can happen (and they did). Took a week to get it back on too. Had to hire another electrician to fix that mess, then entergy says I need a permit (after the work is done...), Holiday weekend, nobody around to call..what a mess. Early September mind you. But luckily the temps were only in the low 90's so coming home, it was only 85 in the house. Could've been a lot worse.

7 days.

The last two were rough. I used a portable generator for electricity and made an A/C unit out of a couple styro coolers, an old squirrel cage fan salvaged from an a/c unit, some old duct work, some dry ice and a whole lot of iwater ce that I had to purchase from the local store. It WORKED and that last day, the house was 74 deg inside. Too cold for me but it was better than 85-87.

Mom's a/c quit last year in July....I ran over there with my makeshift a/c system and had icicles on the celing in about 3 hours. Not really, but it was cold in the house! A/C guy said I sure hope we can get it fixed soon so we can warm the house back up.

sometimes you gotta use your brain.
