Because there are 4 lock washers. When used in pairs, they cancel each other out

Actually the welds were the reason I thought of a couple of our farmer “colleagues”. They’d improvise big time.

Hell, a lot of us would improvise with an extra washer…maybe not 4….

One guy in particular “glued” everything together with his tombstone stick welder in his barn door… with hay chaff all around. ….

He would weld broken wheels with tires on them. My grandfather was astonished he never blew one up…or started a fire….at least that he admitted to…..

Those lock washers will act as springs. On the older frameless tractors, they will prevent the bell housing bolts from shearing off or bending….as I observed in another recent thread…

I did some work on an alarm system at a local electricians home. This guy had 30 employees and was the go to electrical contractor for the area.

The wiring to his garage/ shop/ office was absolutely scary. Wired it in his spare time with pieces left over from the jobsite.

With that gooseneck on the ball hitch I bet that front end was light! He'll soon have that hitch through his tailgate I imagine.

He probably has tires like this.

I wonder what torque setting was used on the bolts . I hope they weren’t over torqued.

What do you mean?

That, right there, is called an "emergency air supply". So if you were to get a flat somewhere in the tire, the emergency supply air would fill it.

That way you don't need a spare!

I rented a trailer from Sunbelt rentals that with a tire that developed a tumor just like that.
