I played a bit with the tree sheer last week. We had 4" of rain a few days before so I was able to pull some of the hedge and locust out by their roots. Some of the larger I would push into with the sheer and be able to see where the base was, then be able to sheer it and move it. Then come back and cut the base off at the ground. Most of this should have been sprayed a couple of years ago and this mess would not have been. But it has been a good testing ground.

Also working on placement of camera.

Thanks for your service!

I served overseas in the Iraq Gulf War 2002 to 2003, temps were 120+ during the day and some nights it would get a light freeze, talk about temperature differences.

Our family homestead farm in Lee County, Texas had a house built early 1900's, don't think it got AC until about 18 years ago. We would spend our summers there as kids, I remember a few nights sweating myself to sleep.

I'm glad you got some rain!

We got a 5min light rain yesterday, it kept the dust down for 30min, lol
I recorded it as a trace of rain, bit of a fluke of some heavy clouds. I see on the news almost daily, the storms that kick up in North Texas, they never reach us.

I use to get them for $20 from the sign co. I used them under bee hives to stop weeds.
Now they must be made out of gold or something?

If you were local, I could hook you up with some. They got lots of holes when we replace them. But many have gone home with employees for covering wood piles and such. Or cut down for other projects.

We rent roll off boxes with heavy tarps covering them. We usually have a couple tarps end up in the dumpster a week when we get a box back with the tarp destroyed beyond being able to patch.

My son and I did some maintenance on the smaller ZTR. The front wheels were complete replacements with flat free tires. The rear wheels had a bit of rust on them, so we used wirebrush wheels on drills to clean them up. Painted them and took tires over Villa tire shop to get the new tires mounted. Total ~$210
Front wheels/run flats $90
Rear tires $84, Valve stems $3.44
Paint $12
Tire mounting and disposal $20

Picked up 20 round bales today, started the cows on hay. Pretty sure I'm gonna have to disc up 10 to 20acres again and try plant grass seed again in the fall.

I have 120 acres of brome/fescue that usually makes 500-600 round bales per year. We will be lucky to get 80 this year. It looks good, but no leaves under the seed heads. Yeah, we fertilized.

Wow, when you add the input cost of making hay you'd be better off setting in the easy chair drinking coffee!!

The price of fertilizer makes a guy want to go back to the old days of spreading with a manure spreader and keeping it simple and fewer head.
