Does anyone know if these threaded bolts with nuts on them are suppose to be tightened or loose.
There are several of them for the pins on loaders. All seem to be loose, was just curious how they should be. Loose or tight

They are installed loose by the factory.

Yeah. Some so loose they fell out of mine. Fortunately I'm good about checking my equipment. Safety wired a roll pin in until I could get another bolt.
Edit- they should not be tight though.

Tighten them up, then back them off a few threads so they can move. As others have said, they need to have some degree of play in them. Your nuts appear to by nylock nuts, which are the correct ones.

Loose or tight - I doubt it matters.

The bottom two nuts on my bucket sheared off in the first few hours of use. Just a bad over exposed and unprotected design. I replaced with shorter bolts inserted from the bottom, convetional nuts with a thread locker and fully tightened. Two years later and going strong.

Yep not tight, they are just a keeper.

I set mine finger tight so they don't rattle. Nylon lock nuts work good.

Well, I guess "tight" can be used loosely. Pun intended. When I think "tight" I'm thinking torqued more than snugged up. The loader arm flange isn't going to move. The bolts just keep the pin from sliding out.

OK... 'snug' enough that they can't fall off, which really means 'tight'.
There's ZERO reason for them to be 'loose'. Other pins on the loaders are tight.

Wonder how long this becomes an 'oil war' ????
