I wonder what dinosaurs debated? The whole planet was a huge rainforest and then one day it all started to turn to ice. I guess their committees couldn't find a solution to control the weather since most of them died out.

re: If a wildfire is coming down the mountain, do you say "that is just the cycle of nature" or do you take effective action?

Well both the feds and 5 provincial governments did NOTHING , 4 DECADES ago. They were all provided with a workable, effective, cost effective plan to reduce all damages from 'wildfires' including minimal loss of property,100s of 1,000s of acres of forest saved, all types of animals saved and virtually no loss of human lives.

NONE even acknowledged the plan let alone implement it.Every couple of years, they were sent 'the plan' again, usually after a 'big, bad' wildfire for 10-11 years. Zero response just 'crickets'......

In general we are poor stewards of the earth. Plastics are new to the earth and are now everywhere. the earth is a closed system and we will soon be out of easily obtained fossil fuels and drinking water. I'll be dead by that time but I think if we do not work to fix it, the earth will fix itself and that will be unpleasant for humans.

So I guess I’m grouchy at them too. They were also slave owners
My wife is a slave owner, or that is what she thinks. I keep telling her that Lincoln freed the slaves, and she replies, he never freed me. She tells me what to do and I ignore her and tell her to go to my agent, Hellen Waite.

The 'problem' with plastics is that 'they' BANNED plastic straws, yet landfill plastic car bumpers. 'They' do NOT sort and recycle all plastics. Around here over 3/4 go into the landfills. ironically the 'blue box' wgen damaged does NOT get recycled.....

But it has nothing to do with Canada warming twice as fast as the global mean.

Yes, forest mgt is barely over 100 years old as a science, and it is only within the last 50 that we have come to understand the role of natural fires. Pine bark beetle was a good example of the need for natural fires to knock the populations down.

Smoky the Bear is dead.

Road to Hell is paved with GOOD intentions.
