Hi. Had a problem today that's driving me crazy. With the bucket curled almost all the way in, moving the stick to float does...nothing. This happens regardless of how high, or low, I have the FEL. Otherwise everything seems fine. Curled in somewhat less than all the way and everything is fine, float works. With the bucket curled in I can use the stick to move the FEL all the way down as usual. And, if I have the bucket most all the way curled in and float, while the FEL won't float by itself I find if I tap the stick left to curl the bucket out a little, the FEL will go into float. Not a big deal in truth but if experience has taught me anything it is that when things stop working as they should most often they get worse. Besides, it's driving me crazy. Thank you in advance.

Interesting. I don’t think I’ve used float in full curl. Usually I’m flattering the bucket or dragging with the front edge when I go into float and that’s after the bucket is nearly on the ground. I’m sure others will weigh in but I wonder if the way yours work is normal?

Moving the stick left should curl not dump. Typo ????
When you say it wont "float" do you mean the boom does not drop when you move the joystick to the fourth float position or the joystick wont go into the flost position?

when you push the control stick fwd into float can you feel the indent (what the young ones call the "boop") at all ranges of bucket curl?

I'm sorry. I did mean tap the stick right to curl the bucket out. The issue is I can't use the float function to let the boom drop and float. This is only when I have the bucket curled in. I do always feel the detent whenever I push the stick all the way forward as I should. This started yesterday and seems to be getting more pronounced, which is to say with the bucket curled in even less than yesterday pushing the stick forward past the detent into float position does nothing. Not really limiting function as it is now, but I'd rather not just wait to see how it plays out.

If the bucket spool is in neutral when you go to float the bucket hydraulic circuit is totallt disconnected. The float circuit does not even see the bucket circuit. So are you SURE the bucket spool is in neutral when you go to float?

Well, I'm sure that I'm not doing anything to cause the bucket spool to not be in neutral. The odd thing is if I have the bucket curled and positively push the stick forward past the detent, the boom stays raised and stationary and if I then move the stick right ( still with the stick in float position ) the bucket uncurls AND the boom lowers to the ground.

Take the covers off around the control valve and inspect the linkages and connections.
If it is changing in a day then it sounds like something is bending or not installed correctly any longer.

Yes. First disconect all the couplers and run it. Maybe leave the hoses for curl function off with the bucket curled and try the float function. Then have a look at the valve.

I second this suggestion. There is nothing in the hydraulic circuit to cause this. I suspect its someting mechsnical in the linkage.
