I had a V.A. medical appointment yesterday. Doctor said have a happy Memorial Day. I replied Thanks, but happiness is not the point. I doubt he understood.

This one is not service branch neutral nor honoring the fallen, but the message should be universal. There is nothing wrong with being proud that you served.
