Not sure if it's an optical illusion but it looks like there's a lot more material removed from the blade on the right (top). What's the purpose of those notches? Are they for mulching? Nice looking edges by the way, and clearly no stones in the field.Started to prep mower deck for season.
Obvious it was a dry summer with little mowing.
Blades are in good shape. Will hit them with an angle grinder, but won’t take much.

Those are Oregon Gator G6 (?) mulching blades for a lawnmower deck. Have quite a bit of contour to them. Not sure if it's an optical illusion but it looks like there's a lot more material removed from the blade on the right (top). What's the purpose of those notches? I have a black HLA bucket and just used regular spray paint on mine to kill the shine.Another satisfied customer of Ken's Bolt on Hooks. Easy and quick install and had plenty of time left before dinner to move that hunk of wood from the front yard that's been there since we bought the place in November. What do people paint their hooks with that can withstand the wear and tear? View attachment 99809
I don’t have those hooks but some hooks I welded on. They were not painted before so I did the base primer and paint coat. I find that no matter what I do the paint comes off. Not sure if Bedliner would work. I may have to try that.Another satisfied customer of Ken's Bolt on Hooks. Bedliner paint will also come off those hooks when you use chain.I don’t have those hooks but some hooks I welded on. They were not painted before so I did the base primer and paint coat. I find that no matter what I do the paint comes off. Not sure if Bedliner would work. I may have to try that.
Very true! First time I used the bucket I sprayed the underside where it was scraped up, I quickly realized that was not worth the time or money long term.Scratches on the hooks are pretty irreverent when the whole bucket gets marked up with use.
The plating on them is better than any paint...leave them AU NATURELWhat do people paint their hooks with that can withstand the wear and tear?
The local dealer welds two hooks on all of the buckets on the tractors they sell. They do such a nice job that I assumed it was a factory installed feature, but learned through this forum that it's not. Turns out the dealer in Sheridan, WY doesn't weld on hooks, so I still need to buy and weld on hooks on the bucket that came on the M6060.I don’t have those hooks but some hooks I welded on.
I just looked at your weld-on products. You have some nice stuff and at very reasonable prices too. I'll be ordering some parts from you this spring for sure. Many dealers won't weld hooks for liability reasons, the same reason OEM's don't add them.
Remember we sell the only forged in the USA weldable grabs too, for all the DIY'ers.
