Nice looking machine for lawn mowing. I'm actually looking at the same mower.
Prolly close to 5k delivered I'm thinking. What did it set you back?
More like $6k for the 48”. The 42” was about $5k. One thing I like about the 48” is that the deck isn’t centered like it is on the 42”. Dealer had both on the lot side by side so we could compare.

The left side of the 42” is about even with the wheels. On the 48”, the right side of the deck is same alignment as the 42” but the left side where there’s no discharge chute sticks out about 6” past the wheels. We kind of thought that might be nice when mowing up close to stuff.

How do the side plates on your blade work for you? I have a heavy duty Bison blade and I see that the plates are available. Seems like a cheap way to avoid buying a box blade for moving materials.
I don’t know as I haven’t used it yet. I got them mainly for snow removal. I might leave them on and see how it works.

Thanks for the information about the difference in cutting widths. The seats look comphy compared to the MTD my wife complains about now.

Not what I wanted to do on such a nice day. More nice days ahead though. The machine will be ready!

Did some reading about the differences between ABS and PVC. ABS is stronger than PVC and doesn't require a primer when glued. That alone should give you some confidence. My town required that once the PCV leaves the foundation it had to be steel pipe with couplings. I remember them using some rubber and hammering the pipe together, but didn't pay too much attention to it being done, because the contractor didn't like having anyone watch him working. Almost 40 years later I think that I now know why. He never put a riser at either end of the septic tank, so there is no way to inspect the inlet or outlet, only one over the cleanout hole.
"had to be steel pipe"
I assume you mean C.I. pipe.

Folks complain about Kubota prices. I got an oil filter for my Miller welder at Orielly Auto, a Wix 51762 was $15.99. It would almost fit in my coffee cup!! :(

Was questioning my need for my hydraulic side link, until I actually used it. It's great.

Should be good to go now and spent the afternoon at the neighbors cleaning up around his new driveway. Grubbed some trees, boulders etc while rocking out to my playlist. A good day.
