Gov't says a rule to promulgate (make widely known) voluntarily require flame mitigation devices in portable fuel containers that impede the propagation of flame into the container.

The Gov't determines we need better, safer fuel containers. How much time, money, effort by attorneys and committee members is spent in this process?

Someone else posted this and I agree. "150 people die everyday in the US of fentanyl use, every day. That adds up to 54,750 people each year. Yet the govt will mandate another gas can or cooking appliance to save us from our stupidity but will not move to secure the southern border where this drug is being walked in backpacks across every day."

Because gas cans are low hanging fruit. Far easier to make another law, than deal with a real problem.

There are YouTube videos to show how to get a new gas can ready for actual use.

I modified most of mine by taking out the filter or flame mitigation device whatever it is called, they were hard to fill at the pump and you couldn’t siphon from it. The VP racing cans are great as they are 5 gallons with an easily attachable hose I’d needed. but if not function just like a container. They Even have a vent lid.

I live in a border state. Have you ever been to the border? Last time I visited Chihuahua, it was two hours getting through customs (both ways). I have hunted the backcountry along the border many times. Everywhere you go there are Border patrol agents in truck, Jeeps, horseback, UTVs, helicopters, and fixed wing planes. So much activity everywhere. What is your idea for “securing the border” that isn’t already being done?

Isn’t it a form of poetic justice that illegal drug users suffer high Darwinism-Effects?

My "idea" is....to keep illegals OUT.
With a wall!

Yep like that's going to work.... All I need is a rope and a hook. A wall is just a big A*** waste of money.
So,.... a wall has been proven to work in Israel,.....but would be "just a big A*** waste of money" in the USA.

Just how did you arrive at that conclusion?
Have you ever heard of the Berlin wall?
The Great Wall of China?

Joe Biden has had a "wall" built around his house in Delaware....because a wall is "just a big A*** waste of money"? :giggle:

I have actually seen and traveled along that “wall” in the back country. Lots of entry gates every mile or so. Anyone with a $50 Harbor Freight battery operated reciprocal saw with a metal cutting blade can create a gate in 20 minutes. There is simply too much wilderness (2000 miles of border) for urban focused solutions to work. Israel is a very small country and very urbanized.

Like Israel does!
Israel is about the size of New Jersey. Rocket fire between it and it's neighbors is a weekly event. The border is far from secure. Israel has no problem putting settlements in other peoples land.

My idea would be to erect the wall with the materials that we already paid for. The only thing that is happening is the waste of dollars guarding those enormous piles.
