Are the FEL Q/A pates a standard size? There is one local to me that is $40 cheaper then from a Kubota dealer.
I am a new Kabota owner. Thanks Mark

Yes, there are specifications. If you search in OTT you’ll find lots of info.

They *should* be but there have been several that their fit and finish was... lets say, less than ideal.

If you can weld, many just needed spacers to tighten up the area where the latches lock in...

If you don't weld, I would not take the chance....

Is the $40 cheaper place a business that will guarantee the fit and make sure it works???

I will be stopping in this week to see about the plate, I think they will guarantee it to fit they have a good reputation. I do have a welder and torches.
When I bought my tractor I ask how much a plate was salesman quoted me $200 I don't know if is a Kubota part or not.
Thanks for the info Mark

There are plenty of places to get a plate. This one was less than $200 when I bought mine and its perfect.

$200 for a plate sounds very reasonable. Some are 1/4” and some are 3/8”. Also, some have a gap on top which helps with visibility and, to make it more complicated, some have 2” receiver tube so you can move trailers.

I had an extra QH so had local shop weld it to Titan (aka cheap overseas) plate I think I paid just under $300 for.

Picked up the plate today. The main plate is 3/16” steel. $130

What are you going to do with the Plate?
That is a super light weight plate!
DO NOT use it for anything other than attaching to the back of a light weight pin on bucket!
If you try to use it for forks or hitches or anything else you will make that plate tragically fail!

I did not ask about the plate from the dealer, didn't know there were differences at the time.
It will be fine for most uses. You just need to be sure you distribute the load across it. Weld dont bolt the implement to it and use gussets or stiffning ribs as appropriate to the implement.

The slots the pins drop into are also a potential weak point. If its going to see really heavy loads there beef them up.

Dan,
Technically the lip at the top is the weak point, too much weight or stress on a light weight backing plate can make that lip fail and the whole thing come crashing down.
Good plates will have a heavier top plate to mitigate this, that plate does not have a heavier top lip.

Good plates for normal non bucket uses are 3/8" or greater with a top plate of 7/16" or 1/2"
I don't trust any plate under 3/8" for tractor use and under 1/2" for skid steer use.

The plate has 3/8" plate on the top and bottom. As for 3/16" being to light I was just looking at the bucket and it is mostly 3/16' plate with 3/8" top, bottom and along the sides. I will be welding a snow plow to it and will add plates to spread the stress. Hope to work on it this weekend and will share pictures.

There ready for the snow. The steel that goes almost all the way across the plate is 2x2” solid steel that the plow is welded to. I do most of my plowing with the back blade and mostly just pile the snow with the front plow.
