Without a clue, all I can think is that symbol on the light just represents ANY PTO, and not just a center PTO...But like I said, don't have a clue about your tractor.

Did your tractor have a mid PTO option? Could you try moving the PTO lever and see if the light goes out? Grasping for straws at my end...
Moved and checked the PTO lever, checked range lever and put it in neutral, made sure to not touch hst pedal. I was just wondering if anyone on this forum had this same issue.

I believe that a mid PTO can be added but mine doesn’t have one.

Only thing I can think to add is it is possible the switch sensing position of the PTO mechanism has failed? IF that is what the light signifies. When that switch is in the Lever Off position, it would either be closed or open. No idea which. Without an electrical diagram no way to know.

When the tractor was operating correctly, do you remember if that light was off or on? This is a key question. If it was normally off, then being on points you in the direction you need to go. You in this case would need to determine why the light is on when it should be off. On the other hand, if the converse were true, then the light being on would not be your problem.

The light was never on. Whether it was on when starting, I don’t remember.

My L3130 HST says it’s in gear when it is not and won’t turn over.
I changed the neutral switch on the side of the transmission, part #060-53902, but still doing the same thing.
Should I change the clutch switch? Part #TD060-57500.
Have a L3130 HST also just tried to start with pto in gaged will not start as far as in gear yes will start ( the high, med. & low selector ) no light like that on dash with pto ingaged . Hope that helps

So what shows on the display when you try to start ? It should show why it won't start, ie; hst, pto, clutch, etc.

Ok, ok, I‘ll admit it, you are a great and wise one oh potentate of the forum community!
No, I"m a guy who has watched literally a few thousand people, spread across a couple of decades and quite a few automotive forums, tear their hair out, waste time and waste money, because they replace parts, they don't troubleshoot. And most "technicians" these days don't know any better, either.

I just come on here for help, not for preaching.
I'm trying to save you time, money, and frustration. That's called, "help".

Suit yourself.

In post "6", I attached a picture of your dash with the symbols called out.

If your Mid-PTO light is on with the key switch in the "ON" position you will not have power going to the fuel shut-off solenoid.
Whether or not your tractor has the Mid-PTO opinion switch, it still has the wiring in the harness which if shorted or grounded will mimic having the switch.

If I were the OP I would take a deep breath and consider this advice carefully.

BUT the OP states the tractor starter will not turn the engine over. Which is one step before the fuel is needed.

edit: Seems logical though if that light is showing the PTO is selected, that the electrical logic would prevent the starter from turning the engine over. Along with preventing fuel delivery.

Correct, it will not crank when it thinks the Mid-PTO is engaged.
The OP stated that he could jump the starter solenoid and crank the engine over, but it would not start.
