I like that the carter and sons doesn't set the implement further back, I just wonder about the pulling leverage.
And I don't like that it doesn't auto lock.
Could be issue with pin to deck clearance on a mower.
This could be easily fab'd diy.

I bought the Land Pride QH a few weeks ago. It is working great so far. It was over $300.00 but the steel you can see is thicker than the habor freight model.

I was all set to buy the HF QH till I saw a You tube of a fellow who got stuck in the mud with one and the lower arms bent WAY OUT OF SHAPE.

I decided on Pats, but I am getting the weld on style so as not to extend the length of the arms another 4".

You need to document that!!! (Please... :D)
Well... I have done a lot/fair amount of welding but never been formally trained, nothing I have done has broken, but not always the pertiest.:D

And since I will be doing it with a Hobart 140 mig:eek: on 3/4" metal it will have to be beveled and layered, so we'll see.

So you just cut off the"eye" of the existing link and weld on the Pats. Didn't know they made such an animal.

No I didn't cut the eye.
I p/up a couple pieces of 3/4"x2 1/2"x6" steel.

And these then get bolted to the eye of the links?
No I had the extendable eye's, so I just unpinned those and will pin these in.
So if I ever upgrade to a newer model, I can easily change these out, or if the need ever arose (don't know why it would) I can put originals back on.

I’ve been using a cheap quick hitch from rural king for at least four years and it’s holding up well. After buying the top link that alleyoopper suggested it made life a whole lot easier. I do have to get off the tractor to attach the top and to adjust the top link if nessessary but it’s so much easier than before. Also I bought the quick attach bushings for each implement. No more slop or worry, I just hook
Up and go. Looks like agrisupply has them for around $14 a set.

Here are the implements I have set up.
6’ Blade
5’ brush cutter, this is the only one I have to adjust the top link.
6’ Finish mower
6’ tiller

Good luck.
Glad I stumbled onto your post! I just put a quick hitch on my Kubota M4900. Installed the “heavy duty” hook into the hitch that I assume takes the place of the adjustable top link. However, I’m not sure I like using that center lift hook as well as I like the adjustable top-link. I like to have a little play in the top link so the BushHog mower will float with the terrain. Am I thinking correctly on this—does my question make sense? Thanks!

I’m not sure if I’m understanding correctly. Maybe I used the wrong lingo. But the top link is the adjusts arm that is attached to the tractor, top of the three point hitch. Looks like this.

The piece that I picked up to make hook up easier was a Y shaped linkage that replaces the large hook that comes with the quick hitch. Looks like this.

hope that makes more sense.

you may still need to use the top adjustable link (1st pic) to adjust the top of the three point hitch (quick hitch)
Here’s a pic of my set up, not sure if this is “correct “ but it works well for me.

I just went to their website and they no longer offer the 3-point hitch top link extension. Any suggestions on where to look elsewhere?
