Not sure on that one.

The spring scale I had at the time only went to 300 lbs.

I have since gotten a digital scale that goes up to 600 lbs.

We have some pretty healthy hogs in Deep East Texas.

I've killed quite a few well over 300 lbs. but never anything that would get to 400.

Even some Sows (weighed) that were over 250 lbs. One was 280 lbs. That's a big sow anywhere.

But those are exceptional hogs. Mature Boars (3+ years old) will run 250-325 lbs. Sows about 160-210 (some heavier if carrying a load of piglets).

But I don't assign one pig over another any importance according to weight. They are ALL destructive and I don't hunt them for sport. Rather...to keep them from damaging my property.

Feral hogs are a scourge and I kill as many as I possibly can....of any age, size, weight or shape.
That's incredible. I completely understand, taking out the invasive species! One of my good friends just bought a place out of Burkeville, where abouts is your place?

Thanks, oh that I69 crap is going to be under construction for like the next 15 years.
^^^^^

At least.

I suspect I'll be gone before it is completed.....which suits me fine since I don't need or want to get to Houston any faster than I absolutely have to. ;)

Yeah that I69 cuts into a lot of land owners/farms/ranches I don't like that at all, but more and more people keep moving here.

Made it back Tuesday from a week in the Ozarks, holy crap it got cold on us.
I really enjoyed the Fall colors and the National Forest trails.

Saturday Success, I got Nacho Saturday evening! It was cloudy all day, the sun never came out and he was off schedule from hiding in the dark.
At 5:48 he came out and b-lined to the feeder, and less than 5 mins later I dropped him. I have hunted Nacho for the past 2 years.

Baiting, Supplemental Feeding and Food Plots are all legal in Texas and some other States.

Not allowed in certain other States. Good reasons for both depending on locale.

I got a few rain showers this morning already, very light rain, but this will be very helpful in my food plots.

That's because my friend up in Dirty Jesery said the big girls would follow you home from the feed store. In my county, it's illegal to visit a Walmart after getting feed from the feed stores/Co-op for that same reason.

1.5in rain, (in the last 3 days) and a little bit more forecasted this afternoon. that should give me enough soil moisture to finish grubbing/clearing the last 5 to 7 acres.

Yep, some pesky ordinances some places. ;)

For instance, in most of Deep East Texas.....your 'date' can't ride in the back of the truck! (something about seat belt laws) :ROFLMAO:
