Hey, Dusty, lighten up! He waited a full three minutes and nobody replied to the first one! What's he supposed to do?

Well I'm sorry, I have bad reception and my signal dropped so I figured it didn't go through. I checked to see if it took and it did not show up so I reposted.

What did you do to possibly total it? How old and how many hours and miles on it will be a determining factor also. The availability of new units is slow coming into the dealers, and I'll bet that even repair parts are also in short supply.

Not much. A limb fell on it and penetrated the hood at the hinge pivot and bent that bracket that is welded to the frame so they are figuring a new frame. It also broke the dash and pushed the glove box out. RTV x1140, 2 1/2 years old, 170 hours and 700 miles. Parts so to be available.

Just let the dealer do whatever they think it will take to repair the machine. You don't even want to suggest anything that might give them the impression that you are willing to accept anything other than a like new repair. If you are unhappy with it after the repair, let me know because I am looking for a used machine that was well cared for without 10,000 hours on it.

Service parts are readily available, they just can't seem to assemble new ones.

With the current shortage of those things it's certainly worth repairing. I would think that once repaired, if you didn't completely like it you could easily sell it for a nice price.

The only thing I worry about is the bolts not rattling loose. Hell I'm not a mechanic but I could do this repair. I have just heard the horror stories that Kubota book time is not realistic especially on the warranty side. Then you throw in that the dealer has only one tech and one helper and then you throw in that this machine went back to the dealer with less than 7 hours for overheating and got it back back and it still overheated and i sent it back and they replaced the whole wiring harness. I never was warm and fuzzy that the alarm for overheating multiple times didn't cause internal problems with the engine. And now this.

I always am concerned when people claim to overheat since they are almost always basing it on the temperature gauge. I have seen way too often when the "overheating" wasn't really happening, and it was the gauge or wiring that was causing the issue that the customer was seeing. When they replaced the wiring harness did that solve the problem?

if ya don't trust the dealer find another one or fix it yourself

if it's totaled you might not get one anytime soon

if they have to do a frame swap you might not get a frame (or associated small parts) anytime soon either
