Indeed. I've seen that video too, but it's not the cutting edge being too low that is catching the dirt in the driveway, it's the "inside edge" of the skids, when you turn, that are pulling the dirt way up....like 3-4" tall or so (varies with the type of snow that's down and how loose your dirt is). Sometimes I'll just blow with the blower raised in the air ever-so-slightly. This is not perfect as the tractor follows the (small) undulations in the driveway, so you'\re left with a snowy corduroy type effect. LOLI saw a fellow on YouTube in New Hampshire who put an iron pipe over the cutting edge. He's got a gravel driveway as well. I have two driveways I blow, the main one is paved, the back-one is gravel. It's "wicked hard-packed" gravel which may as well be paved. I swear it's like concrete in places.
Anyways...I adjust the skids way up(down?) at the first of the winter and am especially carefully about making as few turns as humanly possible at the first of the winter. In the spring, when we get those first few really super warm days and my "base" starts melting, I push all the slop and crust around with my back blade as much as possible.
You're next door, so you already know what I am talking about. I just don't know if the skids/skiis on your new blower are the same as on your old one.
You'll see what I mean the first time you turn on soft gravel driveway (or maybe it's 100% really hard like concrete?)
