When I watched the video and saw the one person use the hand sanitizer dispenser in the hallway, I almost fell out of my chair. Unreal.

I told my daughter when she was very young, the reason fathers run into danger to save their children with no consideration for their own safety is because we know we couldn't live with ourselves if we didn't.

When you put yourself in a role like these first responders, you effectively become every child's parent. I felt the same way when I was coaching youth soccer, those kids were ALL mine whether I was coaching them at practice or when they were on the field during a match.

I would agree with you but I at this point we are running out of actual men-- unless you include the mom, the ONLY man in the group.
My Daughter is convinced Men are being replaced by " soy boys ". Her belief is these young mommies quit feeding breast milk or cows milk and only use so called baby formula & soymilk which are changing boys to sissys.

The manly man is a Hollywood myth. There is a reason that the combat vet suicide rate is so high in this country !
The idea of hiring a military vet would gain you a manly man is BS. The majority of vets are not combat vets.
A filing clerk may have never fired a weapon while under fire.

I believe @aaluck was pretty clear about it in his post:

"Exactly. This is why we need combat experienced ex-military, not cops (no offense to any cops out there) at these schools. We have no shortage of these folks in the US--unfortunately."

I am a firm believer that all of these school shootings would not be happening today if not for the cowardly action of the school assigned uniformed police officer in the first major school shooting, at Columbine.
This cowardly worm was getting out of his car in the parking lot, when one of the two perpetrators opened fire on him, with a handgun, from over 110 yards away. He fired two rounds in return fire, then ran away, not returning to the scene until 3 hrs 45mins later.
Had this POS done what he was supposed to, I.E. kill the criminals before they entered the school, I do not believe any kids would have been harmed that day.
That set the stage for what we see today.

yup they can't just go in and neutralize the threat because if they miss, or a pass-through occurs (likely), another kid can get injured or killed. Attorneys would hang the cop, the entire force, and the rest of the entire United States' LEO's will then be portrayed as even more evil, because of the media and greedy attorneys.

Theres a lot of things that should be different, and can't be because of just this kind of thing, not only are they afraid of getting hurt/killed, they are also afraid of what happens AFTER the event should they make it out alive, for the above reasons

screwed if you do, and screwed if you don't. And frankly, it's a set of issues that have gone long unrecognized by many. So what's the cure? Defund them? Keep attacking them because of a media-driven issue?

And we wonder why there is a shortage of new LEO's to replace the ones who are leaving??

On the other side of it, yes they (officers) should have acted. No doubt about it. Will there be any disciplinary actions? I guess we'll see.
