I accidentally put gas in my MX 5200
It seems to have impacted the hydraulic pump seal and I’m not sure what else. What can I expect to hear from the shop?

Three sentences. Can't tell you what to expect from a shop with limited information.

Gas in fuel tank has no impact on hyd pump seal.

Did you run engine after filling with gas? If so how long? How much gas to diesel ratio?

You took it to a shop?

Drain gasoline and fill with diesel.

With a common rail engine that’s had gas run through it you can expect to hear the high pressure fuel system needs to be replaced. The high pressure pumps dont tolerate gas.

I ran it twice for about two hours each. After the second time the engine would start but not stay running. The hydraulic issue is from large amounts t if extra fluid in crankcase and low fluid when hydraulics checked.

Trying to understand why you think adding gasoline to the fuel tank would cause issues with the hydraulic system…

Edit: unless you meant you added gasoline to the hydraulics instead of the normal hydraulic fluid…

It is impossible to make any sense of these comments.
If you put a significant amount of gasoline in the DIESEL FUEL tank, and ran the engine twice for two hours each time, your diesel engine is very likely now toast!
I am actually very surprised that it would run with a gasoline diesel mix, for an aggregate of 4 hours, unless you added only a relatively small amount of gas to a mostly full diesel tank.

I'd be very surprised if anything but some sad news is forthcoming.

As D2Cat said drain everything, remove all fuel lines, flush throughtly, new filter, fill with fresh diesel, properly vent the entire system. and cross your fingers and give it a shot. If you're lucky, then change the oil and filter and address the seal issue. One thing for sure you'll never make that mistake again.

probably 4 new injectors, supply pump assembly, lift pump assembly, rail w/pressure sensor assembly, and whatever else.

As Fordtech said, common rail engines do not tolerate anything but diesel, includes water. That's why it's imperative to make sure your fuel is clean, filtered, diesel-and also imperative to keep the filters and separators clean.

Did quite a few Standard L series injectors and pumps. Ain't cheap either. Kubota denied at least one after having done analysis on the fuel as well as the aftermarket filter. Owner had to fork out about $4800.

Trying to figure out where OP put this gas. Doesn't make sense.

Hmmm, OK, well then, maybe not Dusty !

The post was certainly very confusing to say the least.

Either English is not this person's first language (that's fine) or maybe alcohol was involved?

Just sayin'...I would normally TRY to help (to the limits of my ability) but had absolutely nothing to offer this time as it was so convoluted.

Gas in the fuel tank won't affect the hydraulic side. It will ruin a modern electronically controlled common rail diesel like the MX5200 in a hurry. One thing I've noted is that Kubota has recently changed the water separator design on all the MX series tractors, and perhaps all the tractors. The separator is now larger and instead of the simple float against a red line on the clear housing, the separator has a sensor in it and a WIF light on in the cluster. I'm pleased with this because most folks run dyed diesel, which is red, and makes the float against the red line very hard to see. However, it may be indicative of a lot of problems with water in the fuel ruining the high pressure fuel system. Gas in the diesel likely means an entirely new fuel system and a complete fuel tank cleanout and new filters. Running four hours with any volume of gas in the tank would cause the high pressure pump to lose lubrication and start spitting pieces of metal downstream into the injectors and pressure control / volume valves. And probably return some to the tank.

There's another possibility. I have noticed that some people seem to think their job is to throw out words and then figuring out what they mean is everybody else's responsibility. It appears some people were never taught to think about what they are saying and make an effort to communicate rationally.

I recall a post on another forum that had literally two words in the title and two words in the post. Not particularly useful!

And then he was offended when people asked questions, trying to understand so we could help him. His second post was his last post and was also two words (which I will not repeat).
