Lifted it up, released the grease bleed, (track tension) ran a 2x4 under the track to push the idler back, and popped the right track off, all in maybe 5 minutes.
RH bed slide was even worse than the other, but that made it easier to remove.

Then the min ex gods frowned on me again.
The RH drive sprocket is missing three teeth, and a few more are chipped/worn short.
Crap.
No wonder the right side was always worse for steel track problems.
Figured I would weld it up, and re-machine/re-grind the bad teeth.
Spent more than an hour trying to break loose the metric Allen head cap screws. that hold the sprocket to the drive motor.
Extra long Allen key with cheater bar, hand impact, air impact, and electric impact, no dice.
Did not even budge any of them. 🤬
Plus, they are all full of paint & dirt, have to drive the allen key in with a hammer.
Next I will try my 3/4" drive stuff, but I have a feeling I will just break the 8mm to 3/8 drive adapter.

Bad/missing teeth marked with tape:

I can do the weld repair in place, but it would be a hell of a lot easier to do it on a workbench.
And the allen bolts are in blind holes, no way to get PB Blaster or such to the threads.
And I don't think they have ever been off since it was assembled.
🤬

On the plus side, all six track rollers are in good shape.

OK, the 3/4" drive breaker worked; 3/4 reduced to 1/2, reduced to 3/8, reduced to 8mm.
The cap screws are loose, but other duties pulled me off the job again before further progress.

On the upside, I now have a plan.
Rather than weld/reshape the broken sprocket, I am planning to make an adapter to re-purpose a bad front idler sprocket to use as a drive sprocket.
It came with the spare parts I got with the mini.
The bearings failed, and they kept using it until the center was destroyed.
The teeth show almost no wear; in fact, it is in better shape than the other (3).
I will have to machine out the spokes, and then make an adapter plate to duplicate the hole pattern & center hole, but fortunately I know a guy who can do that. :)

Thanks!

But a new plan has emerged. Today I found that the drive sprockets are still available in England!
Started to order one, but after seeing the difference in the tooth profile when new, and what mine look like with all that wear, I ordered two. (those steel tracks were a serious mistake)

The tracks will last longer, and I will have more usable adjustment with the new sprockets.
They were not cheap, but they will save me a ton of work, which translates to time, which I don't have much of these days.
By the time they get here, (May 31 to Jun 14) I should have both old sprockets off, hubs cleaned up, new bolts, & ready for installation of the new ones and the new tracks.
My pocket book will be lighter, but so will my work load. (y)

A GREAT find!
Ordering two is obviously the wise choice!
The result will be very satisfying!

The tracks will get a lot less wear from those drive sprockets!
Your going to have a heck of a nice unit when you get all done fixing it up!

A piece of chain tying those two old steel tracks together would make a fantastic mooring!

Yesterday (Wednesday) I found a notice on the front door from the UPS guy that he tried to deliver a package and we weren't home.
We were told to expect a package of documents from the lawyer, so we figured that must be what it was.

Today (Thursday) they dellvered the package.
It was the drive sprockets (from England) that I ordered on Sunday evening. 😲
4 day delivery from England? When it was supposed to be May 31 to Jun 14?
I don't get it, but I'm not complaining. :giggle: 🥳

Now I have to find time to install them.

Acorn nuts replaced.
These protect the threaded ends of the track roller axles. 3 outside, 3 inside, on each side.
One was missing, one had been replaced with a standard nut, & the rest were just dented/crushed.
Not necessary for functionality, but they look a whole lot better.
(it was fun finding m16 x 2.0 acorn nuts, $2.00 ea)

One advantage of living in Canada -- metric hardware is much easier to find.
