Still soaking foot in hot water and epsom salt, and wearing a poultice boot. Abscess is draining but slowly. He is feeling much better. When it really hurt and I came near his stall, he would hold it up in the air and put it forward to say Mom, I have an owy, fix it. This is pretty funny when you take into account he is 18 3 hands and 28 years old.

We got some friends coming over for dinner tonight. So I fired up the smoker.

Got 14lbs of country ribs going with some butt rub, mesquite firewood and natural lump oak charcoal.

I'll tray them and doctor them for the oven around 1:30

She calls it Goulash and who am I to argue? Burger, rice, celery, onion, various peppers, golden mushroom soup, and I saw Tony's. I asked no questions and when my plate was empty, I refueled....er, refilled.

Tater salad, pasta salad, roasted Brussels sprouts, fried chicken and baby back ribs….

Never would guess it’s 22 degrees F…., but it was a good diversion from “winter” food….

OK, they ain't home squeezed like Fordtech86 made but served up with a mess of Yellow Grits, they are mighty fine.

These are genuine Vicksburg MS, tamales that are well known and the maker's family has been in the tamale making business for close to 100 years. Heck, I have been eating them for close to 75 years.

Syracuse was playing Duke this afternoon.

Gotta have fun food Saturday for something like that. (Syracuse got spanked)

Couple pizzas with my own homemade dough, our own homemade pizza sauce, plus sausage, peppers and onions.

had this coleslaw with dried sour cherries, acorn squash with cranberry stuffing, venison burger. Cabbage and winter squash from last year’s garden, in cold storage in the basement. Getting to be time to order new seeds!

Wife picked up a Mediterranean diet cook book. So... I decided to try something new.

Italian beef rogatano with spiral cut zucchini. And some French bread once that comes out of the oven.

Reminds me of the venison I did last week, but that wasn’t diet. Was low fat for the most part.

Definitely not traditional fajitas, but they’re pretty friggin good for an upstate New York State redneck...should of done some more peppers……

I love their breakfast menu. Closest one to us is Branson. Which is a 4hr drive

Hot the gravy a little thick though. I'm a little out of practice.
