I just traded a 2001 L3000dt and bought an l4701dt last September.
for me the decision to trade was based on 1) what the dealer I ended up going with offered me as a full package deal and 2) an aggressive work and weekend schedule that was going to limit my time to show and sell my tractor.
i shopped and worked deals on JD, Massey, a Kubota dealer 45 minute away and a Kubota dealer an hour and a half away.
Ended up going with the further away Kubota dealer. The tractor price with FEL and R1 tires loaded was 29,500 for. New 2021 model. L4701. They offered me $7,000 on my trade. So I ended up at $22,500. The next closest trade offer I had was $4,000. I paid 5500 for the l3000 in 2011 with 100 or so hours. No loader. It had 800 hours on it when I traded it. Could I have gotten more in this market selling on my own- maybe to probably. But I don’t think too much. Looking at online selling prices of my trade tractor It was a mixed bag. Some less some more.
