I have an older B7100 with a 1630 bucket loader. The control valve is worn out and not repairable. I saw on another thread, a replacement off Amazon, but I'm not sure if it will work on mine. My controller has the 4 hoses connected on the top, an "in" and "out" hoses and a third one off the side that has the markings "PB". I only see in and out on the one recommended from Amazon. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need a valve with the optional power beyond feature to integrate with the hydraulic block on your B100.
The PB feature is an additional sleeve or plug which is screwed into the valve body.
You want a valve with a low flow rating. Less than 10 gpm and preferably 8. Too large a flow rating produces a valve with no fine control.
This is an example of the valve you should be looking for.
Surplus Center

Don't forget to get the optional PB part.

Suggest you talk to these people and not just pick the valve I linked.

Dave

edit: mark all hoses before removing them. A hose put on the new valve in the wrong port will be bad news.

It would help if you could identify the type and size of fittings used on your current valve so your new valve comes with any necessary adapters

I have the exact same loader on a B7200. I would recommend this valve:

It has all of the features of your current valve plus a regen function for increased bucket dump speed. It comes complete with power beyond sleeve and is ready to bolt on. I purchased one as a replacement for the OEM valve on my loader - here is a picture of it along side the original valve. Its nearlythe same physical size but you will probably want to fabricate a new mounting base to turn it up at an angle more conducive to the joystick.

That is a Husco Valve. This is what I replaced my Husco with. It took about an hour to switch it over to this. Did not require ANY new fittings... just a direct swap out.Hope this helps.
PS.... the second picture should be familiar to you... it is the same as your current valve

Alright, as a follow up to my original post. First off, thank you all for the feedback. It was all very helpful. I went with the valve from Summit (Brand Hydraulics), let me just say "it works great". I had to drill new mounting holes and purchase 2 fittings. The only other issue I had was with the instructions and it might have just been me, but I had to reconnect the 4 control hoses to get everything operating to the way I am used to. Other than that, it was super easy and works exceptionally well. And the tech guy at Summit was very helpful with my questions also. Thanks again, I really do appreciate your help.

The instructions for configuring the joystick operation do require some study and good spatial visualization skills

Hello all,

Ive read alot a out these valves and this seems to be a part that is starting to fail if it hasnt already failed on these 1630 loaders. With what ive read on this forum, and the recommendations from many, i purchased the "brand" 10GPM valve with the float feature

My b7200hst does have a remote rear hydraulic system so i went ahead and purchased the powerbeyond sleeve. My hydraulic lines for the loader are shot out and i will be dropping one off at a local shop to have 4 new ones made to accomodate the new spool. I will also get new 90's for the inlet and PB fitting.

I did have a question, on the spool powered by the power beyond valve, i noticed it has one line that goes back to a T on the out port on the loader spool... this union of the two out lines returns just under the seat and enters back into the transmission case. There is a second line that appears to leave the the side of the rear spool and goes to the side of the engine next to where the loader spool gets its supply. Is this to keep constant pressure circulating through the spools when they are not being used? Im confused why the rear spool appears to have two "out" ports assuming the rear valve is getting its "in" fluid from the power beyond. Or is the powerbeyond designed to intake oil and not supply it?

This spool is a little different from the factory one and since i need the powerbeyond plug im now assuming the "out" port where the two spools T together would now connect to the top of the loader spool where the plug is at. I believe i need to add a 90 fitting in this spot now.

Interstingly enough, the spool valve did not come with directions but the powerbeyond plug i purchased did. I found it useful for identifying some of the ports on the valve i purchased. I added some photos for reference incase they will help the next guy.

Once i get the hydraulic lines back, ill update it with what modifications i have to make. The plate will most certainly need to be cut.

You have two external valves on the tractor. Both have power beyond ports more properly called high pressure carry over (HPCO) and are plumbed as shown below. The HPCO port for the loader lvaave supplies pressure to the rear valve. The HPCO port on the rear valve supplies pressure to the the tractor 3pt (third valve in my diagram) via the hydraulic block where the external loop originates. The line that tees into the other is the low pressure tank returrn. All of those circuits need to stay as they currently are but you can relocate the return line tee of you want as long as it dumps back into the transmission/sump.

So if im understanding correctly that line coming out of the side of the rear spool and goes into the side of the engine... that line is pressurized and operates the 3pt? Also, the loader valve says its pre set at 2000 psi, has anyone who installed this valve had to adjust that setting or is the factory 2k setting sufficient?

Yes, the line that goes back to the hydraulic outlet is power beyond for the tractor' s 3pt hitch.

The main pressure relief in the tractor limits the pressure you can get at the loader and remotes and IIRC it is less than 2000 PSI. Setting the external valve relief higher than the tractor's relief has no effect.

Thank you so much! I got the hydraulic lines made today and got a 90 adapter for the low pressure return. Hopefully i can get it all swapped out during this week sometime. All new loader lines with fittings and a spare 90 was $225. Should be a great upgrade for being into it $500 total.

I was able to get the new valve hooked up today. The bucket lines hook up the same as the original spool valve but the lines for the lift hydraulics are reversed. It was a simple enough fix by reversing the lines like other mentioned.

It seems like the hydraulics are a bit slower but its a little low on fluid since swapping the valve and lines. I will get new fluid and replace it all anyways. I wont dare ask the question of "which oil". Haha. Thats always been a debate weather its a tractor, car, or boat.

Anyways, when i push the lever into the float position, it doesnt stay on its own... is that normal? Also when engaging the float the arms lift up. Im hoping its just low on oil... but then again i feel like im lying to myself.

I still have to tweek the mount and bolt it down but i need to move it to the garage near my welder to do that.
Thank you all for your help its been a fun project. This valve is much smoother than the old one

Float is supposed to be detented and should stay by itself. There are multiple ways to configure the joystick - are you sure you have it correct? The fact that you had to reverse the work ports to get the direction correct makes me wonder.

Perhaps im not pushing it down far enough to get it to stay. Either way, i agree it shouldnt be going up. I have an older case tractor that takes a bit of force to get it into the float position. When i originally hooked up the work lines, moving the joystick up would make the loader go up. Down on the joystick would make it go down. I switched the work lines and it did correct that issue as far as down is up and up is down. I usually load dirt by moving the joystick down and to the left to make the bucket roll and lift at the same time. Im assuming its supposed to be that way. I will admit, the valve itself is merely resting on the braket. I need oil before i can move it to my garage to modify the mount

Your valve has a fourth position. Switching the work ports would change direction but also move float to the other side. . Is your fourth postion in the down direction?

When moving the joystick down, i can feel a detent, its very subtle. It will move down smoothly and stop... if i apply just a tad more force i can feel it go down farther and bottom out. I tried a little more force and it seemed like it was bottomed out. I recall reading a thread about these valves somewhere in here when someone mentioned its to prevent pump damage. I havent used this valve yet to work with but it feels very easy to push into this detent area very easy if your not careful

Is it going into float? This has nothing to do with damage to the pump.

when the lines were reversed, the detent part was still down on the joystick still floated up when activated. So originally when i hooked everything up, down would make the lift arms go down, if i went into that detent part it would then move upward. If i let go, it would auto return to center and everything stopped.

I switched the lines... now down is up on the left arms, that detent is still farther down and when i get into it, the lift arms continue to raise. I was hoping by switching the lines it would fix that.

As of now, i cant get it to float... when it gets into that detent area, if i let go, it returns to center like normal and everything stops. My rear top link and tilt work fine and so does the 3pt. I have not cycled the hydraulics conpletely up and down since its low on fluid i didnt want to run it until i get more oil from kubota. Would air in the lines cause it to act weird?

I have one of those valves in the shop and I just went out and played with it. I think you have the bucker and lift spools reversed. Both spools have a fourth position. The bucket spool has a fourth regen position that is not detented and the lift spool has a fourth float position that is detented. Out of the box if you mount the valve with work ports up the boom action is left to right and bucket is up down, Move the joystick all of the way right and you will likely find a fourth detented (float) position. Read the instructions on setting the axis of the spools. Or mount the valve rotated with work ports to the right side.

You are correct, all the way right it goes into float just like you said. I will most likely reach out to brand to see about getting a valve that works for this application. Rotating it sideways seems like a lot more work considering all the fittings will have to change.

What is that 4th position for then? Is it a type of bypass for a 3rd function?
