Most people seem to think they’re wonderful. I don’t have one. I keep my implements on swivel castered dollies on a smooth concrete floor so even the heavy ones are easy to hook up. If I had any other scenario, I’d have a full quick hitch or at least a Pat’s of something similar. If you can push the implement and tractor around some manually (small implements and tractor or the dolly system above) 3 point isn’t bad. 5,000lb tractor hooking to a 750lb implement that digs into the ground trying to get hitched on dirt: doing it by yourself, pack a lunch and a lot of patience, dang near impossible. Takes practice with a well coordinated driver and hitcher (is that a word?). If you don’t store all implements on dollies on a smooth floor get a quick hitch. Or try it without a quick hitch; you can get one later if you want. That’s my opinion after 45 years of 3 point use without a quick hitch.
And Mikester has a good point that this has been discussed ad nauseum so you can probably read up on it to your heart’s content. I think you’ll find the vast majority recommend a quick hitch.

For me, my implements are outside. I went from 10-20minutes of fighting with my back blade to get it mounted to 1 or 2 minutes, so whatever the cost, it was worth it.

I had a QH15 on my LX. Very easy to back up, lift and go with the box blade. Cutter was difficult to get PTO connected, everything slid and lined up nice, just not much room to get in there and manipulate everything.
I have Pats quick attach on the MX. Seems easier. Back to cutter and get lower links hooked up, hook PTO up, install top link.
Once top and tilt show up, will make it a breeze. I went with the euro balls on top link. If hooking up non PTO implements, I wont have to leave the seat.

No more messing with lift arms and levelling. Some messing with top hook location or replacing it with a U adaptor. Replaced HF top hook with one from Amazon because of not enough clearance to hook up to the bush hog, common problem with HF one. Used Ken's boltonhooks site to get pins to replace top hook bolts.

3pt travels in an arc, when all 3 points are perpendicular to the ground (approx. center of travel) implements are easiest to connect/disconnect.

Ideas to make implements QH compatible
Get the most benefit from your quick hitch. Buying new get QH compatible. Here is a photo of an implement whose manufacturer has their act together. Note how it's designed for cat 1 & 2. Also the lift arm spacing can be adjusted. Some "QH compatible" only need minor modification. This TSC...

I am sort of a split decision…I tend to agree with NCL person (I forget the number)…anyway when I had a Bx and also my current B I use dollys and a variety of Appalachian engineering on my implements to make them more versatile implements(hill billy toys)…I am aloud to say it…I claim to be a hill billy. Anyway, dollys work for my B. For Mx I got a cat 2 QH and would do all over for that machine. I have LP cat 2 implements for it…It works for me and my toys. The cat 2 implements weigh a lot more. I would say though that for some of the mods I have made to different items for the B on the back end, I actually think a QH could be very versatile with some Appalachian ingenuity…so if you could make it more versatile…it certainly would be a great skidder….or the very least would be great to lift butt end (But so does my loader and forks) of a log up to block the log to cut it up. I think the QH on the Bs has potential, however if your implements are not compatible then it may be more of pain to take it on and off. That’s why I stayed clear of the GH for my B. My stuff just wasnt a match and dollys are pretty cheap and I need them anyway to move stuff around in the barn. I am not sure I helped or not. With a Dolly if you can’t easily hook an implement up to a compact tractor you might be doing it wrong. If you park stuff in the dirt and let it settle a QH probably isn’t going to help…it’s got to line up to make it a Quick Hitch

I've had a cheapo Harbor Freight Quick Hitch for years. Just a little BX, but it works great.
I would never be without a QH now.
If I were to make a change the QH, it would be to change the stock top hook with one from our good friend Kenny at Ken's Bolt On Hooks. He's a common contributor here on OTT.

Since you are here asking you must have experienced the hassle of trying to attach an implement. I would never go without one again.. my rear blade alone was bad enough to wrestle around now my500lb+ box blade is even worse! These are small implements compared to what you will be dealing with. Once my top hook is in the right position (20 seconds to adjust) I back up to either and lift.. Done!

For 20 years I had a small tractor with a standard hitch and ended up buying Pat’s easy change to make things easier. Now I have a much larger tractor and no quick hitch, but I have telescoping lift arms. They make it very easy and I don’t need a quick hitch. Does your tractor have telescoping lift arms?

All it does is set the holes out about 1/2 inch, just enough to clear stuff in the way on most bush hogs.
I have to use the U adaptor (picture above) on my back blade, and it may actually work on the other implements if I keep the top link shortened, e.g. QH cocked towards the tractor on top. May not be short enough for the bush hog though. Of course, you have to get off and manipulate the rock shaft control to line up the holes in the U adaptor with the pin holes on the implement. No big deal. Still lots easier than going through getting the arms attached and then levelling the implement, etc.
So I have another question . I have a L3301 with LP rear blade & box scraper & a Lorenz 3 pt snowblower . will I need to also get the U-adapter like Ralph mentioned above ? .I;s all new to this tractor with a 3 pt stuff , All I've had before were Case 580's , so I'm learning al over .
