These are for the fan.Are these the Fan shear bolt or are you using this in the auger?

In 17 years with my Kubota blower, I only broke that bolt once, and that was when the blower found a rock in the driveway. Even though it broke, it didn't save the fan, and I had to remove it and hammer it back into shape. Back then, you couldn't get parts as quickly as today. I did order one and it is still sitting on the shelf because I never got around to replacing it.My B2782 calls for a grade 8 for the fan shear bolt-no groove.
Dealer supplied me with a bag of each shear bolt-1/4 " for the fan,and 5/16" for the augers.
They sold both Kubota and New Holland, and I received New Holland bolts.
RAD makes blowers for both.
the i/4" NH bolts were grade 5 and held up very well through the years.
A few years ago,I went to buy a few more, and was offered either Grade 5 or Grade 8 by the dealer.
I chose to stick with Grade 5 since I was happy with the performance.
I certainly would think you could get your choice of grade 5 or 8 at the store and be fine-for the fan bolt.
Good Luck!
What does the snow blower manual say?Had the guy at the parts counter at my local Kubota dealer tell me I could use just a regular grade 5 stainless bolt for my shear bolt, is anybody doing this or tried it?
Cheers
I would go to www.mcmaster.com and check the cost of that bolt in quantity. A fully threaded 1 1/2" cadmium plated grade 8 bolt is $8.69 for 25 pieces.Grade 8, 1/4-20x 1 1/4"
Apparently this blower can take either depending on the serial number. Mine is the 1/4".
In the photo of the 3 bolts, the one in the middle is from the dealer!! View attachment 73116
The place I bought them is like mcmaster-carr.I would go to www.mcmaster.com and check the cost of that bolt in quantity. A fully threaded 1 1/2" cadmium plated grade 8 bolt is $8.69 for 25 pieces.
Not the same as B2750, but:If it is anything like the b2750 snowblower, it takes grade 5 on the augers and grade 8 on the fan. Both these bolts have been degraded by grooving at the shear locations.
My manual says to use grade 5 with the grove cut into them for the auger and grade 5 with no grove for the fan. What does the snow blower manual say?
My ARPS blower manual specifies 5/16 x 1-1/2 grade 2 bolts
