Shipping issues

So we have been talking about shipping issues in several threads. Here is another one lol.
to put this in perspective Mobile is 40 miles to the east of me, GulfPort is 35 miles west of me, I live in Vancleave, and Biloxi is 25 miles west of me. So from midnight yesterday my package has zigzaged all around me and for some unexplained reason no one can seem to hit the target!

Shipping issues likely only going to get worse. Fed ex UPS and Walmart are being asked to move their efforts into getting product out of the ports. Also throw in the upcoming holiday, it will likely be a mess

I have the same issues with Fedex. The packages can be tracked to a shipping facility 30 miles to the east of me and then next stop is at a shipping facility 60 miles north of me and then back to another facility 30 miles north of me, and finally to me. The estimated delivery date is always inaccurate. Yet every day I see three Fedex trucks come through my neighborhood. Why three different trucks in one day, for the same neighborhood. Sometimes two of the trucks will come into the neighborhood at the same time. Seems like a management problem to me.

Not all Fedex trucks are equal, there are several different services. Look at the logo and you might see different colors and wording. Some of the trucks may be private contractors.

So far my stuff is getting here on time and without problems. Hopefully that will continue.

I have not experienced too many delays with what I have personally ordered. But, USPS tracking has been a mess here. I have to send certified letters from work and I must know when they are delivered. The tracking never updates. I told my boss we are going have to start sending them FedEx to verify they are delivered.

At a bit less than 300 miles, the return for my package shipped sept 29 and delivered oct 12!
A lot of handling.
It did arrive and I got my refund.

You are absolutely right. Just before I retired (letter carrier for Canada Post) management let staffing get so low some walks didn't get out for days even at Christmas time and all the time crying poor mouth. A good carrier/driver can make the job look great and should be appreciated however, well I won't go there. All I can say is the problems you're having are the same here and yes this Covid thing has played hell with everything but like everything else in this world today it has to do with money and profit.

Recently many of our fedex and ups rural deliveries seem to be outsourced to uber drivers in rental vans. Drivers get lost depending on if they use a gps or google for directions. For some reason google shows three different possible locations about 30 miles apart.

With FedEx, at least locally, standard delivery comes out of Little Rock. Overnight comes out of different facility in conway.
