Well after taking care of my little friend (see the link)

Morning didn't start the way I planned | OrangeTractorTalks - Everything Kubota

I got to work on at the farm. Did a little mowing and weed eating. I moved a pile of wood to the burn pile.

I finished my work and found my dad work on removing brush and old fence line.

Hauled the fencing to the scrape pile and hauled brush and wood to the burn pile.

For it being an unusually warn October day, we got a lot accomplished.

Finally took down that massive limb that had broken almost through and fallen into the crotch of a big dead oak. Its in the woods where I've been really clearing out large rocks and smaller trees with the grapple. Every time I traveled under it all I thought of was 'widow maker'. It is about 14" in diameter at the trunk side. This pic is with my 7000lb rated rope over it.

I used my antenna launcher to get a 10lb test line over it 1st. It launches a 2oz lead sinker with the line attached to the reel on the unit. 20lbs of air was all I needed.

After the fishing line was over I used that to pull up a 1/8in Dacron line which was then used to pull up the 7000lb line.
The line was routed through a snatch block then to the tractor - a safe distance away.

Yeah it all sounds great but it didn't work The way the limb broke I was pulling in exactly the worst direction. I just ripped up the lawn even in 4wd.
I ended up taking the tractor into the woods to the right of where those lines are and pulled directly (far enough away) on the limb. Took one pull. Then it was clean up time

Of course I had to cut that in half so I could move the pieces and get out of the woods.
Gonna be a lot of chipping soon.

Went to the township dump with a load of brush and small stumps from my house, and than went down the street from me and dug out some stumps for my uncle.

Ripped out another tree about 4". When I got the tractor some thought it was too big, it could be bigger for some off these trees.

Ordered 5 mo' hoses. BIL was going to use Katy to haul a limb that broke on the edge of their yard. But one of the curl hoses was dripping, so he put her back up. I've replaced most of the hoe hoses and it looks like she wants loader hoses too.

ah you have a backhoe! Are these holes used for the backhoe? I was wondering what they may be for, or possibly for shipping?

Yep. BH subframe mounts there.

Very nice. Thanks for the info man. I have A rear backhoe on mine now, so i need To figure out a good spot to tie it down with the hoe on it. As for the front i was Thinking about doing the same as you, but with a shackle Mount

You can use a clevis on the draw bar with the hoe mounted (it does not interfere). I do it all the time when chaining it down on the trailer. It fits in the kubota toolbox that comes with the tractor. Just remove it if you have a 3pt hitch implement attached. I found out the hard way that the clevis can interfere with the lower link.

Helped a Grandson plant his deer food plots.

All of my bushhogging and planting is done, but I will have to top dress the food plots with Nitrogen around the first of December.

That’s what I’ve done the last few times, i pull The drawbar out and put a shackle through the second hole in. What toolbox? For the rops models? I want To build a toolbox for mine

Borrowed a friend's post hole digger to dig a few holes.




It is pretty light compared to what I used back when I worked on a farm. I had to use a bar to keep pressure on the auger to dig. Still better than digging by hand.

Been a few weeks since I posted. Slaughtered our pigs yesterday. The plan was to hang them from the IH454 and use the bota for the guts. I dug a 6’ deep pit. But the IH blew a tire on a long weekend after lunch on a Saturday. So. The little BX did all the work.
