Made pizza with sliced giant puffball mushroom as the crust. Brush the slices with olive oil and cook until brown then build the pizza on it.

Found enough scraps to gather another Reuben, along with some excess slaw from the Rachel adventure.

Truth be known, we could eat Reubens and Rachels for a couple days. ….

I just like dill pickles….

But I didn't cook it and I guess that it does not qualify as a 'Chef Salad" because I ain't a 'Chef'.
IMG_0927.JPG

Maybe it's a 'kitchen' salad. Iceberg lettuce, sliced fried chicken, carrot spears, quartered grapes, mozzarella cheese, and topped with Tony's and thousand island with wheat thins. Yes, I occasionally love a good salad.

Did I say I like reubens?!? Couple times a year really have a yearn for them.

Don’t want any corned beef to go to waste….

Nobody will ever convince me that Kale is edible. It's annoying, cause all the blue apron meals we get either have kale or bok choy. Bok choy is a mostly useless vegetable - very little taste, it doesn't do anything for me... But at least it's edible. Every time I've had the kale I've hated it. It's to the point that we won't get the recipes that call for kale. If one slips by and we get kale it doesn't even go in the fridge waiting to be cooked, it goes straight to the compost.

I felt the same for years then...…..

The above does have some stems left but usually I cut them all out.

Place kale in a pan, sprinkle salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and drizzle avocado oil on it and cook for a few minutes. I love it but I can understand someone not liking it.

I do eat it only fresh from my garden.

You say not immediate family, but after researching I think Justin Wilson is your grandma’s friend’s coworker’s cousin…….twice removed……maybe 3 times, whatever that means….

That’s 3 quarters of the population of Louisiana, right?!?!;) I think I’m on to something….:D

You guys both cook the same, and that’s a great compliment. I just think of you when I see his show. 😀

Making a marinara literally straight from the garden.

Will be sauce for some linguine fini, and maybe for stewing some mystery venison pieces a friend brought this morning. The venison is still frozen, so not sure what it is….looks like tenderloins so far….if so, they’ll go on a screaming hot grill.

Both will go well with BBQ shrimp and delicata squash for the Mrs. birthday dinner.

Happy Birthday to the Mrs!

And a good friend indeed 👍. Had a customer bring me some catfish fillets so we are having a fish fry tonight, and some shrimp for the wife and daughter.
