Website Hacked?

Last night for several hours when I attempted to log in to these forums I had “pop up“ warnings my log-in was being re-directed to another site possibly to steal my data or infect my device.
Anyone else? Anyone know why or how?

The SSL certificate expired. They appear to have renewed it.

Same here.. had me worried! Even when I went out and googled it.. same thing! Never seen this on one of my favorite sites, I was ready to delete it but I couldn't get on to do that! Lol ol skool..

On my end this site has been acting up a lot.. reloads every minute or two. If I'm trying to post I have to be quick or everything is gone and have to start over.

That reload thing has gotten kind of annoying. I thought maybe it had to do with the fact that my iPhone is the only way I ever access the site. If I want to post something I’ve gotten to the point that I type it in Notes and then copy/paste to the site. Otherwise it partially saves, I forget where I’m at, and make posts that are even more confusing than my usual posts.

Doesn’t do it much if I’m just reading. Mostly when posting. Not tech savvy enough to know why it’s doing that.

Exactly. Expired at 0800 on Sunday night. Mr K says failure to update certificate was the result of foot dragging on the part of their hosting provider and has been fixed. New certificate issued yesterday 8/8/2022 and installed today 8/9/2021. Good through 8/8/2022.

One trick I discovered is that the post is probably not completely gone...
Just go read another thread, return to the thread you were trying to post to and see how much of the thread is there.

I use an older iPad and thought that that was the problem but my gosh I do get frustrated with the webpage had problem so it was reloaded every few minutes.

Just go read another thread, return to the thread you were trying to post to and see how much of the thread is there.

I forgot to mention above that all I use is my old IPhone, not a 6 but just above a 5.. I think SE?
I think it will be obsolete in 2022.

I haven't experienced any reloads on my visits. I'm using a PC on WIN7 and Firefox.
Maybe it's peculiar to Apple or IOS.

Haven't experienced reboots but at random times when I click on a thread in a forum I will be taken to an ad on a new page. I will have to close that page out and try again on the thread.

Thanks. Just downloaded Brave, at least for OTT use. Only site I’ve had issues with.

This is pretty standard behavior for "free" forums. OTT has to have some way of paying their operating costs.

My Android phone and Windows desktop both running Chrome seem to be happy with the way OTT manages their ads. The ads open in their own top level window and have a close button. Just click on that button and they go "poof" and the thread I am viewing is right behind them.
