I apologise if this has been raised before. My B2601 is now 7 months old, only has 35 hours on it, is it Ok to do the 50 hour service early? Just suits me now, time wise.

The number of hours is a suggestion .......... by all means - do it as soon as you wish!

Write everything down you do at 35 hours, in the book, on the filters too!

No problem at all. 35 hours is enough time that everything should be worn in now.
I know some people don't like buying oil and filters but I do mine seasonal. That way there I know I don't have to worry about it all winter, nor all summer. I do it between seasons when I don't need it out doing work daily.

Yes do it whenever it’s convenient to you. Be sure to use Kubota oils and filters, keep all receipts for any future warranty issues. Enjoy the time spent getting to know your tractor
Thanks for the responses, did it today. Had trouble with the Hydraulic filter, got it on eventually.
No, getting new one on, my fault, wasn’t positioned well to use both hands, lost more oil than anticipated.
You should have used the shop vac trick. Only lost a few drops when I changed mine. Next service I'll dump all fluids.

Attach a shop vacuum hose to the oil fill and turn on the vacuum. It will create a negative atmospheric condition, keeping the oil in the tractor sump, and not leaking out the oil filter fitting. Never tried it....
I’ve used that shop vac trick, and yer gonna want to choke down the suction some or you’ll get a shop vac full of oil. The hose end on a typical say six gallon vacuum fits the fill hole perfectly. I used a squeeze clamp on the hose to restrict the suction. Also, block off the case vent.

This is what I do….
I plug the vent hose with a screwdriver that fits the rubber vacuum hose snugly and then remove the filter. Once the screwdriver is in place, I’ll remove the filter (s). I only have drips and maximum, a slight drizzle. Super easy and very little mess, cleanup and fluid loss.

For the Shop-Vac trick I found it work better with a second person. Put the hose close to the opening and kind of throttle it with your hand to balance between letting it run out the filter or getting sucked up by the shop vac.
Just had the Kubota technician here doing a small warranty job for an oil leak, he said he just clamps the breather hose, when changing the filters, works well.
^^This is the way to do it. Did it on my B2601 and it works. You do lose some fluid, but it’s just what’s in the filter you are replacing.
