After spending many hours comparing various part numbers, I could find ZERO difference in the engines between the two, so the horsepower difference is most likely a change in the computer. The only difference I did find between the two tractors overall was the front axle. The L4060 P/N is TD320-14000 and the L4760 P/N is TD330-14004 which replaces the previous P/N TD330-14003.

Anyone else find difference between the two tractors?

I haven’t looked to be sure, but I think the 4760 may have a turbo amongst other things.

Nope it is 5060 that is TE4
The 4060 and 4760 are both normally aspirated engines (yet the same engine), no turbo... but that could be a follow up question, what if I added a turbo, but I also realize the frame is slightly different once there is a step up to the L5460 & L6060, but still the same base engine. The 54 & 60 look to be exactly the same, wonder if the HP difference between those is merely a chip program change as well. The 50 is a slightly different breed with the GST only being offered.

Largest difference is the front axle like you found, due to the larger loader.

This is interesting. Looks like about a 5 thousand dollar price increase. The only thing I found were the front axle, radiator and the stay e/g ecu were different. So you may be right and they just increase timing to increase power. Maybe more heat from increased timing could explain a different radiator. I’m sure the extra 100lbs in weight is a big majority in the front axle.

I know some outboard motor companies will use the same shortblock engine but have different heads and or fuel delivery. Sometimes using restrictor plates to decrease power. But the kubota appears to be all the same engine components.

An almost 18% HP increase is nothing to sneeze at if it is just a few adjustments. I'm not concerned with my current front axle load at all, I carry what I carry and that wouldn't change ... so far the L4060 handles that just fine with the stock HP. The extra HP could help with increased power to the PTO and hydraulic system for the backhoe, which all of those components and structural supports seem identical between the two tractors. I don't recall seeing a difference in the radiators, but not sure if I checked the cooling system parts. I'll take a look at those.

Same loader ... LA805
You may want to check again, l4760 can use la1055. The give away for larger front axle is the extra king pin at the top of the bevel gear...

Are you really asking if you can bump up your L4060 to the specs of a L4760, or add a turbo and go up to a L5460.

NOPE!

Well not unless you have a stupid amount of money laying around and have nothing better to do.

The computers in these are not easily programable like an Automobile computer.
There is some talk that a non dealer can get a programmer that will work, but I've yet to see proof of that.

All the aftermarket companies that have come on here boasting that they can tweak the computers on these tractors die off within weeks never to be heard from again.

Just wondering if there was a few minor tweaks that could be done to bump it up a few hp, another 5 would be nice. If I bumped it up too much with the current frame, I'd probably start breaking some things.

Do not see the extra HP adding anything to the backhoe.

Extra speed of the backhoe would require more hydraulic flow. More power from the backhoe would require higher hydraulic pressure. Seems increased engine HP would provide neither...more flow possibly if you also increased max engine RPM at the same time.

Still nope, not a thing you can do to get more HP out of it.
Any changes you could try, will trip the computer and you'll end up with an yard ornament.

And totally agree with Henro, Upping the HP won't do much for that kind of work.
