Hello, to answer your question I can think of one off the top of my head. That would be "bulldog" down in Ga. I believe he is a big fan. Am I right about that Phil?

Oh and glad your here, make your self comfortable.

I like Amsoil --- use it my cars and my truck. But, I like to change the oil in my tractor fairly frequently -- I just can't stand that crappy looking diesel oil. So, I don't use it in my tractor because it would just be too expensive without any benefit for me.

I use it in everything I own from weed eaters and chainsaws all the way to my M 9000 and Bulldozer. If it has a engine, tranny, gearbox, or grease zirk I use Amsoil.

I'm not going into more than that because it seems to always start a oil war. If you have any questions about what I have used or learned by using Amsoil send me a message and I'll try to help you if I can. Been using it for close to 20 yrs now and very pleased.

Dustyman440, which oil are you using in your truck? Just wandering if you are using or have tried the 5w30 HDD in it?

The best mpg I ever got was using the 5w30 HDD. My brother used the 15w40 in his Dodge and loved it. I'm using the 10w30 diesel oil right now but it did cut into my mpg some. It works out about the same in savings due to the difference in oil cost though. For overall use I prefer the 5w30. I can tell the biggest difference in how my tractors start during cold weather. Can't tell much with my truck because I will plug it up when it's cold. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help out.

I just bought a new M7040. Kubota sez to use ultra low sulpher diesel in it. I have been doing that. At 50 hours the oil was still clear. Changed according to maintenance chart. Now have 97 hours on it and new oil is still so clear hard to tell level on dip stick. Kubota also sez to change filter and oil 50% sooner if using off road diesel. Dunno what all this means, but I plan to change oil every fall, especially if soot buildup in oil turns out to be as good, {less} as it seems like it will be.

Now days in most cases the off road fuel is nothing but ULSD with die in it. All the distributor does is add the die to the fuel they have in stock just so it can be identified easily. A few years back there really was a difference in the fuel but that's not the case any more. Since the newer ULSD engines can be damaged by running high sulfer fuel in them the fuel suppliers don't want to be liable if they dumped a load of good fuel in by mistake. This happened at a truck stop just up the road from me a few yrs ago. There were trucks sitting on the side of the interstate everywhere. The fuel company had to pay for all of the repairs so they quit stocking any diesel that contained high sulfer. They still deliver fuel that's labeled high sulfer but our delivery man said it was ULSD just like the stations have. The only difference is the red die.

RG, if it makes you feel any better. The last CAT loader I got required ULSD. I ran off-road fuel in it everyday and had no issues. Just to replace the engine was in the $150K range so we wouldn't have taken the chance if we were unsure. At that time all the equipment we had were running tier IV engines and all ran on off-road fuel.

Skeets, Amsoil has a full line of motorcycle oil. Everything from 10w30 - 60 weight, even carry fork oil and chrome oil filters.

Kuboman, we haven't had anything close to winter this year. I put hay out last year and remember it was -11F, that was rare for us. I would guess that a good range for this area normally is 0 - 20F. That would be our cold weather. This year I only remember it getting below 20 one time and has been in the 20's just a few times. I think I have only had to blow the lines going to the cows water tank maybe 3 or 4 times all winter. We are already fighting with mosquitos and the cows are starting to get flies on them. That's bad for the first of Feb.
